I'm sure he'll be just as hard on himself on the air as he has been on others charged with the same offense. Yeah right!!!!

The arrest is a fact.
A felony charge is very serious unlike a misdemeanor which is like getting a ticket.
It is perfectly appropriate given this guys past to condemn him for facing a felony domestic violence charge.
When was the last time you had a felony arrest?

A+

He regularly brings up past charges when discusses people, no matter what became of those charges.

What is it with ESPN and hiring such degenerates? Best story was Sean Salisbury who I could not stand. They guy was barely mediocre QB who thought and acted like he was Hall of Fame material.

lets see if any media types are willing to call marriotti a thug. lets see if espn puts his name at the bottom of the tv for the next week. lets see if his story leads on sc. lets see if the radio talk shows will treat him with the same disrespect that they do athletes. hopefully some good may come if people with a platform would realize it could happen to them, maybe they will slow down with the verbal assaults

I agree with your sentiment but have to say fat chance there. The internet is all about unscrupulous, amoral unadulterated spewage.

Look how many people have condemned him to hell already simply upon being arrested- no conviction.

Can anyone here describe what is a felony "domestic incident"? What is the difference between that and a misdemeanor, if there is one?

the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony is usually one of degree of severity.
If you punch someone in a bar you might be looking at a misdemeanor.
If you put him in the hospital you're probably looking at a felony.
I would speculate that there is physical evidence of bodily injury for this case to rise to the level of felony.
02:57 AM on 08/22/2010
Its all about California penal code. Most states make any complaint of domestic violence to require mandatory police action. And if even the slightest bit of evidence exists, like a scratch, they can make an arrest. Given the 'undisclosed' nature, it could be a kid who was spanked called the cops and showed them his/her red fanny.
