Speaker Pelosi shouldn't be coy here. She should come right out and say no other legislation moves until this SCHIP Bill passes in its original form.

When Bush Vetoes SCHIP turnaround and send back the first version again. Hold back all other funding bills. Nothing goes to his Desk. His AG confirmation held in check. Put the President in a Box with no access to funding.

And that goes for Iraq funding too.

I mean, for crying out loud, the Congress is at 11% approval rating? This is when you explore other options besides posturing and caving.

Oh ... and I'd go after more Republicans in the Congress and root out the skeletons in their closets. Lets get the leaks about their personal failings out in the press. Counter the fear of their President and Corporate Patrons with the fear of their Moral Constituents. We know the Republicans are dirty. The time is to win, enough with this "taking the highroad" crap ... it's getting us nowhere.

In general I agree with you, but the last time Congress tried something like that, I believe it was Gingrich, it made Clinton into a legend. I think Pelosi is too smart for that.

Some Legend ... bottom line, the Dems are approaching the situation like Businessmen, so of course they're going nowhere.

Bush and his Republican minions recognize the situation for what it is ... a WAR. The Dems say "Oh, they can't be serious!" in regards to the Republicans actions, "Despite the Partisan Politics we are all in this together for the country."

Wrong. The Republicans are in it for themselves. To Hell with the United States of America. They prove it everyday.

Cheney , the organgrinder whispers to his idiotically grinning simian, "Veto this bill dolt we're going to need that money to invade Eyeran."

The myth of American generosity is seen to be vacuous propaganda when Americans allow their elitist rulers to ignore their own.

This may be a ploy to get more people to eventually enlist in the military howevever; I recommend a career at Blackwater to any potential future recruits. Better pay and benefits and no accountability. A job just like the chimp and the OG.

They're treading dangerous waters when they try to burden a single group with the funding for these enhancements. If they don't fairly spread the cost over everyone, it could very well cost them the 08 election. It's already obvious that it won't be the landslide victory they expected, so why piss off such a large bloc of voters when a minimal amount of brains and effort, to do the right thing, is all it would've taken? Serious lack of foresight. It pissed those who purchase cigarettes off the first time, now they're just rubbing salt into the wound. I don't really care how much you hate smokers, expecting them to pay $25 out of their pocket per month to pay for just the enhancements of this bill alone will be very costly. And I'm not talking about to the smokers, I'm talking about the party. And you can bloviate anti-smoker rhetoric all you want, it won't change the facts.
05:56 PM on 10/26/2007
Taxing smokers, yes! How does that pass muster? So, in effect we encourage them to smoke since the money goes to a good cause. Smoking is itself a huge health care crisis.

Tax the smokers to fund lung cancer treatment for the uninsured smoker. There's some compassion.

And redesign the overall system so that it works. So that people and their children can have access to medical services.

Instead of political show boating, Democrats need to join Republicans to figure out a MUTUALLY acceptable compromise and quit acting like spoiled kids!

The Thug party doesn't believe in compromise. They never have. Remember when you heroes in the Thug party used to lock out democrats, turn the lights out, force them to hold meetings in the basement and refuse to allow them to have any bills introduced?

And these are the people YOU THINK are mature and will compromise?

Good God but trollz are fucking stupid.

Now I know where

Vogontheproctologist gets his stuff.

This is just too funny.

The young conservative typically faces liberal propaganda in the classroom from professors who aim to teach opinion, not fact. With their personal viewpoints finding their way into the curriculum, a young conservative just needs to chant Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall”:

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone

I think it's great. While Bush and the SoCal Republican Congressional contingent were congratulating themselves and doing photo ops in SD, Nancy was sticking it to them in DC. It was an all-pro play. PELOSI for President.
12:08 PM on 10/26/2007
"It was an all-pro play."

So it's not about the kids, it's about politics.

Just like with the war. It's not REALLY about ending the war, it's about getting elected.

Repubs = Democratics = ScumBags
