It is about time we had some Congress members willing to step up to the plate and do their jobs. The Conservatives may be divided between the GOP and the Tea Party, but the Democrats are also divided. There are those that are moderate Republicans (Blue Dogs), those that do not do anything and then the few Progressives that are willing to do their jobs. This Congress has been a major disappointment. Perhaps things will improve later this year but I really doubt it.

What exactly is the job of a "Progressive"? Could you define a progressive for me so I might have a better understanding of what they believe?

The definition of Progressive in the dictionary is: favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are, esp. in political matters: a progressive mayor. In other words, improving health care and financial responsibility in new ways as opposed doing the same thing over again, such as deregulation to "increase competation." Doing the same thing over again and expecting different results is the definition of "insanity."

Just showboating. Like normal.

Even Grayson et al know that running a campaign on a platform of raising taxes and cutting spending is a loser.

The campaign cry is wait till January! That way when we raise taxes and cut spending maybe the voters will forget come 2012!

That is some campaign platform.

Joe Progressive: Honey it is May 31, did we get our tax refund check. I want to buy that Plug in Hybrid
Josie Progressive: Honey, I told you the accountant said we aren't getting a refund this year, we had to pay more tax.
Joe: What! WHAT! WHAT! The tax hikes were supposed to be on the RICH! Something is wrong here! I know we don't make $250K!
Josie: Well maybe we are rich or maybe not, but we had to pay this year. By the way honey, the Art based curriculum school called and said we need to start paying for Junior Progressive's school lunch, special band program, potter's wheel fees, and his after school program. It is going to be about $2,500. Also they are passing a parcel tax to restore school funding that's another $2,500 a year.
Joe: What the hell!

Note: Joe continues to drive his beat up 10 year old civic, and decides to home school Junior.Just another victim of raising taxes and cutting spending.

This is great news----lets force their hand. They gotta go up or down on extending the cuts for the middle class and lets find out if the Orangeman was lying ot if he will keep his word. The voters will pay attention to this.

Good for Grayson, Kilroy and Grijalva. What is wrong with these Dems who are buckling under and want to extend Bush's tax policies for another year or two for the wealthiest Americans? Is that so they can hoard a little more wealth before the issue comes up again. They've had plenty of years to get richer and these politicos need to stop caving to the rich and do what's best for the other 97 or 98% of Americans. Most of the politicians are already rich, so it seems like birds of a feather flock together. The majority of Americans want to let those tax cuts expire at the end of the year as scheduled, so the pols might want to start taking more notice of their constituents concerns or they'll all be out of office.
