These kind of mess up the definition of a species. How many of these offspring are fertile, I wonder?
11:30 PM on 09/25/2010
"Species" is a messed up concept to begin with. Biologists have been arguing over how to define the word for a century.

I've read that several bird 'species' have recently been found to be infertile hybirds of two related species. Do you know if that's true?

I thought Liger was just a word kids made up!

Goats and sheep can breed too, although the offspring are infertile.

Can you even imagine the size of the skull? Obviously someone decided loooong ago that science was the work of the devil or something.

This shit is disturbing! Does anyone else agree? This looks turturous. Ligers were suppose to a joke from Napoleon Dynamite.
01:53 AM on 09/26/2010
Turturous? "Torturous" maybe?

How so?

If I ever encounter one in person, I'm not going to stand around debating with myself whether to call it a "tiglon" or a "liger"....
08:53 PM on 09/25/2010
Ligers just 30 years ago they were called Tiglons times are a changing. Jungle Larry African Safari in Naples Florida was world famous for its Tiglons back in the 70;s

Who came up with those ridiculous names? "Zorses"? "Tigons"? really?
I'm sure the scientific community has more serious names for them.
11:31 PM on 09/25/2010
Nope.
