First the Supreme Court screwed us with the appointment of George W. Bush. Now they screw us with the Citizens United decision that made corporations people.

How many people know the leader of CU also was responsible for the relentless pursuit of Bill and Hillary Clinton. He is the force behind the Hillary movie that was denied release during the 2008 campaign. It is my understanding that it is his intention to do much worse damage to President Obama and the Democratic congress. He is a conservative lowest of the low lifes...so keep your eye on David N. Bossie. CU is truly a danger to our democracy. Thanks Justice Roberts for selling out the American people. Thanks Supreme Court for doing severe damage to our Democratic election process...

Gore lost Florida - every count showed that he had a plurality of votes in Florida. Gore made a huge mistake by trying to recount 3 counties which is unconstitutional. Do your homework next time.

The city of Washington is built on the principal of buying access and influence among lawmakers. That is why K Street and the entire lobbying industry runs our government.

It's a sad truth that both the Democratic and Republican parties have corrupted our political system by surviving on the rivers of cash generated by donors, fundraisers, advertisers and lobbyists.

Here's a graphic. There are plenty of places where foreign money could enter. Note the instances of "unlimited," "unlimited and anonymous," and the new "unlimited direct spending" coming from the corporate circle.

http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2010/10/08/us/politics/08donate-g.html?ref=politics

"The [Chambers] total budget is more than $200 million, and Mr. Josten said the group had safeguards to segregate the small fraction generated overseas from other accounts to comply with federal law and avoid bleeding into political spending."

If the Chamber is so honest, they should disclose where their "tiny" 200 million dollars is going.

p.s. You too can donate unlimited money to these, which is especially helpful if you are unemployed. Free speech for all!

I just saw an ad by them attacking my representative Alan Grayson...s.c.u.m. Chamber of Commerce.
12:30 AM on 10/10/2010
The only place Grayson is going to after the mid-term election is the room that they have saved for him at Chattahoochee!

As regards the supposedly illegal money from foreign corporations, note: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/09/us/politics/09donate.html?_r=1&ref=todayspaper

"But a closer examination shows that there is little evidence that what the chamber does in collecting overseas dues is improper or even unusual, according to both liberal and conservative election-law lawyers and campaign finance document.

Organizations from both ends of the political spectrum, from liberal ones like the A.F.L.-C.I.O. and the Sierra Club to conservative groups like the National Rifle Association, have international affiliations and get money from foreign entities while at the same time pushing political causes in the United States."

This made me laugh:

"The group’s total budget is more than $200 million, and Mr. Josten said the group had safeguards to segregate the small fraction generated overseas from other accounts to comply with federal law and avoid bleeding into political spending."

Where's the 200 million going? Where's the full disclosure?

The Chamber of Communists roll on. Hey, Liz Cheney and Lisa Murkowski, maybe you can use your nepotism connections to land high-paying jobs as useless talking heads with the Chamber?

Perhaps American business owners---especially small business owners--- need to start a new US Chamber of Commerce.

Stop the Chamber of Commerce
"Wall Street banks and CEOs need only make sure that they have paid their Chamber dues to ensure that they can continue to rip off the taxpayers....... Not only is the Chamber lobbying and advertising against the interests of Americans, it is also committing fraud and violating campaign finance laws by creating fake astroturfing front groups, with patriotic names like Citizens for a Strong Ohio, and then illegally funneling millions of anonymous dollars into those groups to attack candidates and judges who won't do their bidding, thereby undermining our elections."

The Chamber sounds like it is already run by foreign interests. And people complain about Unions who only help the American worker. I guess that is why unions are hated so much by certain people, because those same people hate American workers.

I say halt the upcoming 2010 midterm elections, until full disclosure of who is backing these traitors is made. If the elections proceed as scheduled, without full and proper disclosure, the damage to America could be irreversible. Who wants to keep foreign governments out of ours? Any good American does!

Elections are administered at the STATE level, by the Secretary of State. Each state could choose to halt the election process. This is not a matter that would be immediately subject to the US Supreme Court.

So let's say some brave Secretary of State refuses to conduct the 2010 midterm elections in a state which has been deluged with some of these Chamber ads? Sure, the donations may have taken place to Federal entities. But can't the actual elections be framed as a States' rights issue?

I see an inroad here. I think. Anyone else?

I meant to say "Who wants to keep foreign INFLUENCE out of our elections?" rather than "Who wants to keep foreign governments out of our elections?" in the paragraph above. Though, it's anyone's guess who is donating thru the Chamber!

In addition, according to United States Code/Title 2/Chapter 1, Section 1a. "Election [of each Senator] to be certified by governor" says:

"It shall be the duty of the executive (the governor) of the State from which any Senator has been chosen to certify his election, under the seal of the State, to the President of the Senate of the United States."

Applying this:

Let's say, for example, Meg Whitman wins for governor in California, and Arnold refuses to certify her election, in protest to the Supreme Court's decision to allow unlimited, undisclosed political expenditures such as those funneled through the chamber.

Wouldn't that be fabulous for Arnold? He could go out with a "bang." The polls show that the public is *dramatically* opposed to the Supreme Court's decision. And it would shed the spotlight ever brighter on the Chamber issue.

This protest scenario could play out in any one of many elections. Just need someone brave enough.

My bad, substitute Senate race Carly Fiorina (vs. Barbara Boxer) for Meg Whitman in the example above. I get these three and their races mixed up.
