"He has said he doesn't receive benefits currently and that, for a time, he and wife Kathleen struggled, like many others, and needed the help."

He needed help back then, but not now....soooooo....it's okay to deny those who need help today, because he is now better off...Sweet. I get it.

Conservatives are not held to the same standards as the rest of us.

In fairness to Miller, it's none of anyone's business what happened to him in the past that caused that hideous black fungus to sprout from his face.

What in heck IS that mess on his face? I swear to heaven, he looks like he hasn't had a shave and probably a bath in about 3 weeks. Even the TV cavemen (ads) don't look worse to my eyes.

Just as a cockroach, this crop of Tea Party candidates cannot bear the light of day being shown upon them. No hypocrite wants to answer for their shortcomings. Why would we expect anything different from this batch?

No person I know is perfect, but this guy just doesn't seem to be someone I would want to be deciding things for our Nation. If he can say one thing and then do another, there's little to trust about him.

The Democrats need to make a two-point attack on the Tea Party for the rest of its existence.

1) That an independent press asking questions is the most important part of free elections
2) That Fox News is not independent

It's sad when MSM allows them to get away with this nonsense! I just pray that Americans sees them for what they are and VOTE accordingly!

"We've drawn a line in the sand,"

Perhaps the same sand his candidacy is built upon.

Joe Miller has drawn a line in the quicksand. I wonder if anyone will throw him a life-line.

I'm running based on who I say I am, not on what my actions indicate that I am. Words speak louder than actions.

Many comments on this thread center on the issue of a candidate's personal history. But there is a major confusion on what constitutes personal information. If you were talking about marital or other sexual affairs, I would say let's all agree that what any citizen, including elected officials, does with their sexual behavior is off limits in campaigns. But when you are talking about a candidates use of government benefits throughout their life, and that candidate has made that issue the very basis of their plan for governing, that is not personal. That gets to the very foundation of their credibility.

I would say let's all agree that what any citizen, including elected officials, does with their sexual behavior is off limits in campaigns.

The problem with that argument is the most vocal "family value" politicians are usually multiple divorces, pregnant teenage daughters and such.So when politicians take the moral high road, they had better have square footing.

Any one who would vote for someone who would not answer question needs to go to China or a country like that because if these people are not smart enough to answer question they have no business trying to run our country

You dimmies seem to forget that the offices you're running for put the People in charge of YOU, not the other way around.
So you're refusing to answer your boss's questions, little boy.

"You can ask me about background, you can ask me about personal issues, I'm not going to answer them. I'm not."

Imagine what the conspiracy theorists would say if Obama had said that.

Heck, the president's birth certificate was posted on line months ago and there are still scores of thousands of d!ng/eberr!es demanding that he prove he was born in the US. Even when it has been proven that there is no controversy, some people still insist that there is.

Why is it that people like this man will jump at the chance to attack their opponents with lies about THEIR PERSONAL LIVES, but will stubbornly refuse to answer questions about their personal life that they claim are false? You cannot have it both ways, dude!
