I'm kind-of surprised at the cynicism on this post, although I don't know why. I can honestly say "setup" never occurred to me, not one time. I just think this is in line with what he's portrayed about his character all along. He seems like a decent person, albeit one who makes a lot of legal errors, but on the whole decent.

I just don't see "setup" here, although I will admit it's an odd story.

I think the cynicism comes from people who have probably not heard a word that this man has said and paint broad brushes. He does seem to be a decent person and the vitriol against a man, not merely a "rapper," but a person who helped save another person's life.

Unrelated to this comment, I would also like to note that rappers have no control over the industry that they are in -- it is similar to the jersey shore stuff or the housewives shows -- it is the industry execs, the people in control of programming and developing the shows that make money off of others lack of education, misguidance, or disfunctional lifestyles and young people and similarly situated people who identify with those people and follow them. But these "entertainers" are being used and the real people orchestrating crap that affects our youth have no culpability, only the puppets.

Sand, I'm glad you said it. People often throw darts at these ppl for something they see on the TV or blog or something when in fact things dont necessarily go down the way its portrayed or they are coaxed into a staged situation for the camera. it's the 'artist' that bares the brunt of it when it was actually some producer or aide de camp that orchestrated the matter. people are so gullible and alot of ppl think because its on TV on in the mags its true. you are so dumb, you are really dumb.

That's good - but lets just hope he does not continue to make poor decsions when it comes to his life.

Good for him.

Is it really that impossible to think that Harris just heard about the incident and wanted to see if he could help?

Think hard, are you letting your bias against blacks or rappers get in the way of genuinely hoping the best for a person?

If it was Kid Rock they would throw him a ticker tape parade and want his face on Rushmore.

We are very skeptical, aren't we?? I thought this seemed too well done when I read it. He just happened to be there and offered his help?? LOL!!! Good job, TI...

The whole story seems like a made up publicity stunt. TI just happens to save someone's life 2 day before he sees the judge again, come on!!

Right on Nat, some people won't believe it because they don't want to believe.

True. But who wouldn't be in jail after DUI and coke charges? Plus they seem to get right back behind the wheel. A buddy of mine got a DUI, and I became his chauffeur for a while.

They all belong behind bars.

Jesus take the wheel! Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are convicted felons.

not only that....they served about two days in jail....come on. I don't agree with the TI situation however, there needs to be stiffer penalties for those two out of control Bi***es.

I'm pretty sure this is a fake news item.
There can't possibly be any officer in America with the name "James Polite".

A WWE wrestler or a construction worker were definitely out of the picture...lol

shockingly uncharitable
if TI decided to become a more responsible citizen, how would we know about it?
maybe the first sign would be this article right here
08:01 AM on 10/14/2010
Locking up TI or anyone for using drugs is stupid and a waste of taxpayers money. Clearly if people use drugs they are hurting themselves and they have other issues they are dealing with. Putting them in jail, does what? If that's the case lets lock up all these people using prescription meds, illegally.
10:27 AM on 10/14/2010
The law only applies this logic when it involves a Hilton or Lohan et al. Basically reminding them that 'you are white'. Its not applied to a TI for the same reason to remind him that 'you are black'. Run from it all you want, it's still the truth.
