I voted today. Did you? If you haven't already done so, please go vote before the polling places close today - do your fiduiciary duty. While you are at it, spread the word around and assist any senior citizen who may need help with going to the polling station.

The question asked is not the right one for us to be thinking about. The real question is whether we desire an angry reactive government that has no faith in the power of the representative governmental system devised by our forefathers? If we answer this in the affirmative, then today' results will probably warm your hearts. If you believe as I do that a government odes best when it tries to solve modern problems with responsible people centered solutions, then today's results will make you a liitle nauseous.

I don't know which pundits will be proven right, but I do know which network and pundit I won't be watching for election returns - ABC and liar Breitbart.

According to MoveOn: "P.S. Don't watch the election on ABC! They've lined up known liar and race-baiter Andrew Breitbart to do Election Night commentary. Remember him? He got African American USDA employee Shirley Sherrod fired with his highly edited video appearing to show her giving a racist speech—when the full video showed the opposite. Viewers depend on news for facts—Breitbart lies. Watch anyone but ABC on Election Night!"

I'm also writing to ABC to ask them why they would allow someone with zero integirty and credibility to commentate and let them know that I will not be watching their network. I invite others to do the same.

Good information. For me, the only approach to sanity will be to watch Stewart and Colbert. Their news is always the most accurate, anyway.

I predict no matter who wins, most Americans will be worse off and most bankers will get even bigger bonus checks next year. Our country is broken and Plutocracy has won.

The polls show :

The American people want ...have spoken...are for this and that ...
The cake has been baked
The New speaker of the house ...blah blah blah ..

FIRST.
The polls have bveen inaccurate consistently ..to the tune of 10 point swings . FACT

SECOND
The far right and even further radical right are rolled up into ONE number in all polls
THESE numbers are going to split and there is NO way that all baggers will vote pub and vice verca which will shave off MINIMUM 10 points which have been born out with the primaries.

THIRD
Level headed voters on the left do NOT scream at the top of their lungs everyday and whine. They are critical thinkers and just show up to vote AND do not react to polling .

LASTLY
There is an abundance of :
- positive growth numbers in the economy
- positive messaging of the reality and facts put out and not just faux noise
- implosion of the radical far right candidates that have been elected so far

Dems will not only hold both houses , but have been GIVEN ON A SILVER PLATTER up to EIGHT more seats that were in peril .

THANK YOU SARAH.. *wink

Regards,
Fun.ky..

Palin is no pundit. She's just a mouth and should not be shown among these choices. By the way, yesterday she came out to interfere in the Colorado gubernatorial race and endorsed Tom Tancredo and even recorded a robocall from him, like we were all champing at the bit to hear from another ignoramus. And yes, I do mean that Tancredo. The ultimate racist. It's not like we couldn't already surmise that about her as well, but nevertheless, I'm filled with disgust. Oh. Nothing new there.

Hey, Democrats, good luck today!!!!!!!!!!!!

A brand name that is remembered is a brand name that wins in the marketplace—and possibly the polling place. Lisa Merriam, naming consultant to Fortune 500 companies, conducted a fast survey of top-of-mind associations with candidate names in the 2010 House and Senate races. Here find race-by-race name analysis and winning predictions: http://bit.ly/ad2ydC

Remember way back when George W Bush was sworn in the first time, and you said "Well, what's the worst that can happen?" And then remember how the worst DID happen?

Rome wasn't built in a day and Republican powerplays can't be countered instantly. If this election puts them back in the drivers seat it will be due of the disinformation and lies that 300 million untraceable bucks purchased. There aren't enough dollars to counter the bad faith that this much money buys. History proves that if the well of public opinion is tainted badly enough, apathy and disgust keeps people from voting, especially progressives. We must go back to the drawing board, undo the damage from Citizen United, even it if requires impeaching some on the SCOTUS.
11:40 AM on 11/02/2010
The Democrats have considerable responsibility for not addressing that disinformation and those lies. For not setting the tone. For not explaining what they've been doing. For not posing the questions and more importantly, the answers. I have never seen such a deafening silence from the whole gaggle except for the notable example of Bill Clinton, who has campaigned magnificently all over the country, giving the speeches Obama should have been giving.

It's like shooting fish in a barrel, but let's just take taxes. The right thinks that not only have they had a tax increase when in fact there was an enormous decrease that ALREADY benefited them, but that Obama wants to raise their taxes again. Every issue is like this.

I don't see that we're going to have the votes to address Citizens United. We have a majority now and got nothing, because Republicans voted straight party line to leave the decision intact along with a few idiot Democrats. I think we already lost what was beginning to look like an irony in any case, our democracy.

At this point, I think the best thing we can do is make Bill Clinton party chair. If he's the only one who gets it, he needs to be the one in charge for 2012.

Well, on that positive note, everybody get the hell out and vote today like your life depends on it! Sadly, it does.

Well said and I agree. Countering the effects of Citizens United will be a hard multi-year struggle, and may take another scandal of the magnitude of the one my nick is named for. Oddly enough we have had several of those in recent years, yet due to a sycophantic news stream the GOP has avoided paying any real price for them. The important thing we have to do in this country it to somehow teach people the truth of the post-Jimmy Carter conservative movement. Their purpose is to break government by any and all means. Foks, go read Thomas Frank's "The Wrecking Crew" and try to grasp the magnitude of what these people want. They want the insolvency, they want the deficits and the crashed markets, because it's the only way they can continue to crush their enemies on the left. You poor deceived tea baggers are not going to get a balanced budget. Not now or ever.

All they need is 9 senate seats. Lieberman will vote with republicans. And control of the house.

However it works out, there is change in the air. And right after the elections the focus on the presidential elections begins.

Maybe the party that takes control of the House could focus on governing rather than the next presidential election, although that's highly unlikely.
