The "Tax cuts for the rich" argument just doesn't float anymore. A tax cut is a tax cut and the "Cost" implications are the same. Time for the media and left to stop beating that tired old drum. The best way to stimulate the economy is to put money in the hands of the citizen, not the government. The only segment that has grown as a result of government spending is the federal government and that segment creates no goods or services, only needless bureaucracy. Lots of ways to save money but the left doesn't want to address them because it means shrinking the federal government, including the militarry. I'm retired AF but am aghast that although the military has shrunk 30%' the Pentagon parking lot is still full. The tooth to tail ratio has to be out of sight. I'd favor reducing the Pentagon population by at least 30% over the next three years. Same with other headquarters. Gates struck on the staff that is assigned to General Officers but never acted. That benefit has grown by leaps and bounds, particularly at the 3 and 4 star ranks.

Yeah, I'm sure the millionaires and billionaires will hire enough extra pool boys and chauffeurs to get the country back on its feet.

Can we all stop with the whining that Obama is a disappointment because he "compromises". He is not compromising, he has fought for the privileged since his arrival. Can you say Goldman Sachs? What has he done for the middle class?

i cant believe it, but, i really feel like i can give obama some political advice that he obviously hasnt heard and can really help....here it is....SHORE UP YOUR BASE

President Obama will support the interests of the powerful and the privileged and they, in turn, will generally cast him as an obstacle to their success.

It's too bad.

Decision Points - The Obama Version:
Step 1: Start every negotiation by compromising.
Step 2: Compromise some more.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 until you finally have 'em on the ropes.
Step 4: Sign it into law.
Step 5: Criticize your base for not understanding how Washington works.

It's so nice to see that he is now a believer in the Trickle Down theory of Economic Voodoo. All the Republican Propaganda Machine advocates this the reduction of the deficit, which is just code for Cut Social programs and the way to do it? Cut the taxes for the rich! Gosh, how the rich are suffering so, let's give'em a hand! Don't mind the 12 million Americans out of work, or millions who are losing their homes to bank and mortgage fraud...........why did I vote for this man????????

do you agree with Speaker Pelosi's trickle up theories for food stamps/unemployment checks???

have you ever worked for a poor person???
09:30 AM on 11/11/2010
Helping the poor has nothing to do with the bogus concept of "trickle down economics".

You help the poor because they are poor and are part of society. They contrbute to society to varying degrees over their life time just as we all do.

Poor people work at daycare centers watching your kids. They wash your car and they collect your garbage. If Federal Policy makers were not in the pocket of business they would force business to pay wages that would keep people out of poverty.

"You simply cannot extend all of the Bush-era tax cuts, fight one and a half wars abroad and a security war at home, and hold Social Security, Medicare and other educational and health programs together and more or less unharmed." -- And yet Bush sold the right on that lie for most of his two terms.

You can't pay for all these things mentioned off the backs of those on SS and Midacre either. Its time the wealthy carry their own water as this is their country.

Hire Holder to do nothing for 4 years so we dont upset the repubs.!
Let the banking sector you bailed out roll all over you and fund the competition while laughing all the way to the bank !
Mr. President - Its time to make some decsions and stand for something, less you stand for nothing !

Obama will go down in history as the biggest disappointment to the American voters of an president. "Change you can believe in." In order to affect change one has to have some political guts, something this Chicago politician has always sorely lacked. We need a Primary challenge to this spineless president in 2012!!
I'm for Pelosi, at least she has the guts to stand up for the middle class even when republicans spent 65 million dollars to vilify every word she said and everything she did for the middle class. To bad our Presdient didn't have half the guts Pelosi does.

All during his 2 year campaign the right TRIED to warn you and the country that this community organizer was being given a free pass by the msm. He NEVER had to answer a single question with specifics, he was simply allowed to speak in generalities and run as the anti-Bush.

sales tax

no income tax...get 100% of your check

if you buy stuff (other than food/meds) you pay 22%

it will be about the same when embedded taxes are removed from the product sales price

removes gov control of you
