This man, who was the ire of millions overseas and at home, this man, who stripped the rights of Americans right and left to "Protect" us, this man, who rushed headfirst into a war we could not hope to win, thinks that Kanye West's quip at him being a racist was the lowest point of his career.

Feeling thoroughly insulted, but at the same time unsurprised at this reaction, I'd like to sit Dubya down and berrate him like the child he is for flipping the economy on its side, burdening me and my future children with incredible war debts, and fully disintegrating the image Daddy Bush left behind.

This man, if he is worth such a term of esteem, is so thick, that he thought nobody would notice when he published a book full of stolen anecdotes and memories. The only thing he ever authored was the complete and utter dismantling of America's national image and foundation, the same foundation we now have to pick up from scratch and hope the same idiots that elected him into office not once, but TWICE, will actually take consideration into who is weilding the power of commander and chief so we can begin rebuilding our lives.

Well put, and I share your indignation, Matt! I fear the problem is that we are in the minority, and the sale of 221,000 copies of his book the first day belies any true estimation of his worth. While he may just be a lovable goof to some of his detractors, the lies and disingenuousness continue apace and we are left with a bigger threat than ever. And so it goes....

That entire "remembered" incidents were "lifted" from others' works is hardly surprising. I've long believed that, though Bush 43 was doubtless fairly intelligent at one time early in life, his heavy drinking eradicated rather too many working brain cells. By my lights, he's a burned-out alkie who'd have trouble remembering much of anything important, without considerable help. His alcoholism explains his malapropisms, his Spoonerisms, his aphasia. We used to laugh at all those "Bushisms" but they were not done for effect; he couldn't help himself.

I'm watching W and JEB on CNN and W is talking about how his family taught him to be honest and blah, blah, blah.....
This book shows just what level of integrity W has; he can't sit down with someone and a tape recorder and just talk about his experiences?
Looking at the two brothers....Jeb cannot ever be POTUS...2 Bushes are more than enough and Jeb is even MORE conservative than W...imagine what SCOTUS would look like after Jeb.

Wasn't his whole Presidency basically a cut & paste of his Dad's Presidency?

Bush's speeches were written for him, his book was written for him. The speech writers and fox fokes are one and the same. They write books, speeches and ideas for all of their bobbleheads. The words will always be the same with the same sources. Nothing here people, move along.

You are probably a youthful person. Howdy Doody was a clown character of the 50s I think, who exactly resembles W, especially when he is waving in the bizarre fashion depicted in the photo accompanying this article. Google it and you will think that the character was based on W, so strong is the resemblance.

Bush is from an elite family from the Northeast part of the country. In fact, they all went to Yale. If you asked the Republicans, 95% of them wouldn't even know the location of Yale.

To fit in with the voters of the Republican party, he had to move to Texas and "clear brush" just like the voters. He had to talk like "them" so he always used his "bushisms" to connect with the voters. He mangled the English language so he could communicate with the Republican voters. He had to make the southerners believe that he was one of them.

So, I ask, why did he write his book without using his phony, made-up bushisms?

He is plagiarizing for historians, not "yous all reglar fokes". He desperately wants to be something he can never be- a success.

Bahahaha I'm not surprised one bit. The man can barely speak let alone write. The fact that people had expectations for this book is hilarious.

I feel confident saying no more than a handful of HP commenters have read the book. The rest are just parroting your favorite bloggers.

He plagiarizes, he makes wars, he sanctions the torture of innocent humans, he prays, he "writes" a book without having read a book. He's George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States.
