A leopard can change their spots.. but into stripes, prison stripes... so this is why they want to avoid having this around so their unethical behavior doesnt land them into prison for something.

Reality check, both, now all "three" parties across nation, are corrupted and silly partisan think" is why they get away with it as "my party is fine, it it other one that is bad" keeps all them covered.

Why in the world would the GOP want to chop an office on ethics ??? SHOCKING (not).
The fact that the whole system runs on pork distribution, and taking care of the big campaign
donors is a fundamental challenge. Some people are ethical and try their best in a bad environment. Others must have the rules strongly laid out for them. National Campaign financing reform is the key, and starting point, but the GOP will never let it happen. They know who they work for.

Same Old Party = SOP, as in a sop to corporate interests and the moneyed elite.
Alternately: Standard Operating Procedure, which is what this is for the Republicans.

No wonder Rangle made such a scene at his ethics hearing yesterday.  All he's doing is playing for time and if he can stall for another six weeks, he's home free thanks to the Republicans.  But seriously, the Ethics Committee is one of the key stones of good government and I'm amazed that Speaker Pelosi was the one who had to institute it.

"I'm amazed that Speaker Pelosi was the one who had to institute it."

And they hate her for it. The House is basically one adult and a bunch of whining children.

You can bet Republicans will kill the outside Ethics office. The last thing they need is someone ratting on them all the time. Despicable totalitarian ideology Republicanism.

When Newt Gingrich and his merry band took over the House in the 90s one of the first things they did was disband the office that provided scientific support to the House. Guess they did not want any science to interfere with their legislative agenda. Now it looks like they don't want any ethics to interfere with their legislative agenda. At least the Repubs are consistent. That the public does not see through their smoke screens is unfortunate.

I hope this suprises no one but the blinldy loyal GOP supporters (I can't even begin to imagine the inane spin they will do about this) but it sounds like wiping out the police department before they rob the bank.
So all this outrage over Rangel on these boards from the Cons is just an act? Must be, unless there is also an outcry against the GOP fixing the deck before hand.
Something tells me it will be a case of "Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP"

The Tea Partiers won't do anything about it.

They're frauds and everyone knows it. It was always fake. Bought and paid for by Wall Street.
