Someday soon there will be a meta-religion to which all people, including agnostics and atheists, can belong without compromise. The Unitarian Church comes close. The Baha'i faith comes close in some respects. The Esperanto language movement is a force moving in the same direction.

There are people of faith - and of no faith - coming from a wide range of perspectives who see the vital importance of working together in a joyful and positive way.

Baha'is have a keen appreciation for such efforts - and often are involved - because our Prophet-Founder, Baha'u'llah, told us to "consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship".

This effort sounds fantastic, and should be strongly encouraged!

The psychedelic revolution was heavily influenced by Eastern religions and Christian mysticism.

Also, draconian drug laws and a highly militarized police force have made social movements a bit more difficult. I've notice an increase in the number of patrol cars in every place I've ever lived, and there are anti-rave laws, which are anti-culture laws, because "the man" won. There is no real anti-war movement, and I doubt there will be, even if we invade Iran, Yemen, or Mexico...

Religion is a scourge.

Its one of the more constant constants of the universe.

So the focus of this group is to train people to become religious leaders? Sounds like they just want to get more of their own.

Right because Bill Donohue, Tony Perkins and other religious leaders have been such forces of tolerance in our civics for so long. If tolerance is what you want then what the US needs is LESS religion not more.

Religions are best in history books.

This is encouraging to hear, especially when our young people are getting involved to help combat the hatred and intolerance which is still so widespread in our country. Others who came before them and bravely paved the way should never be forgotten.

Intolerance to what? When most religions are set on conversion of non believers where is the tolerance? In these times in some countries people who think freely for themselves are imprisoned or put to death. It wouldn't be surprising that the religious dogma in the USA that someday it will become a total theocracy. Those who strive and look forward to eliminating reason and common sense will be surprised when everyone will be bowing toward Mecca five times a day. There is the tolerance wished for.

I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, then you’ll understand why I dismiss yours.

The faith based are better together while learnng discretion and acceptance. The paranoid and scared in their flocks certainly disrupt and harm this society.

"forces of intolerance"

Religions are better if they didn't exist any because they are all equally absurd. May the "forces" of free thinking be with you.
