"BACHMANN: I didn't say if I believe it or not. What I said was a I was quoting a newspaper."

One wonders if she makes policy on what she hears or does she take the time to actually research and verify facts? Thanks, Repugs for voting this dizzy, freaking lady into office--we Americans should sleep well at night knowing a batty person has power. jeez!

My dad used to love picking stories out of the National Enquirer and Weekly World News, spinning them around so they started out plausible and building up to a funny, freaky shaggy dog ending. He'd tell his friends these stories over coffee or cards, saying he'd "read it in the paper." To make sure no one actually believed these tall tales, one or two of his friends could be counted on to ask *which* paper he'd read it in.

He'd have Bachmann sucked in to believing that her toothpaste had nanobots in 3 minutes flat.

We learned how to read this type journalism in a class they used to have in High Schools, called CIVICS. At the time we learned the political rhetoric and the Soviet propaganda so prevalent at the time. Who knew? She has learned this trait very well and uses it often. I am not fooled by her. She must have a good layer too.

They deny the truth as it stares them in the face to all of our detriment. I wonder what it's like to be so blissfully STUPID as the sheep that follow these morons must be. The kool-aid in Jesus Camp must be incredible to wipe out the common sense brain cells.

By Eva Braun, are you referring to Fraulein Pilosi, when she said, "We need to look into who is funding the Tea Party members?" (talk about not being able to walk back crazy!!!)

BTW, why is it wrong to know who is really behind your moronic statements. Teabager make no sense and can't get past what they've been told to say - i.e., Fox catch phrases of stupidity.

How can you debunk a statement that is so ludicrous it debunks itself? 200 million dollars per day? Are you kidding…Even if Elliot Spitzer was president and his trip included 10 high priced escorts for the day it wouldn’t cost 200 million dollars per day.

That's what so daft about it. You'd have to BUY every hotel on the route to spend that.

The only logical explanation for the cost is that someone in India seriously mucked up the rupee/dollar exchange calculation.

heh, well at least you balanced it our with great Sen. Al Franken. I have to wonder though, Alahna Robinson, have you actually found anyone in Minn. who admits to voting for this dingbat and did she ever say these crazy things while campaigning? If she starting saying these things AFTER being elected then I'd start a petition to get her out of office--impeachment!

Funny how the Left threw out charges agains the Chamber of Commerce ... receiving foreign money ... without providing a shred of evidence as well ... yet the Huff Po and Progressives ran with this story, rather than stop, take a breath, and question the allegation.

While Obama may be a likeable guy personally, his Socialist Policies are Anti-American. I don't see the big deal here... Progressive Leaders like Pelosi have called Tea Party folks "Astroturf" and "Un-American" for months over the Health Care debate, Town Halls, many times.

You forgot KBR employees raping and kidnapping a fellow employee and having laws protect them from prosecution while continuing to receive Federal funding. Only the SOCIALIST Al Franken stood up for this woman and helped to pass a bill preventing the Federal Gov't from funding rapists.

How exactly are these considered "controversial claims" instead of "outright lies?" I understand the need for media to be objective, but calling Bachmann's insane outbursts "controversial" gives them far more credence than they deserve. They are patently false, based in no facts whatsoever.

Don't be afraid to call a spade a spade, HuffPo. It's a big part of why this site has been successful to begin with.

Perhaps the quote was 200 million rupees..still a bit high, but much more reasonalble considering that, at last check a rupee was worth about .02 cents on the dollar..
But why let reality get in the way of a good story..and no one from the 'Bagger Brigade is likely to contest her figures..

Speaking of massive health care bills, before Obama's bill, the American percentage of government money going to medical costs was 47%..much higher than us rotten old socialists in Canada (and yes, that is based on population, not that a bagger would know to ask) so in fact the new bill not only provides basic services for millions and millions MORE Americans who had no coverage, but in fact in the long run will be cheaper than with private insurers...but then you 'baggers don't really care about anyone but yourselves, do you? Who cares if so many Americans have no medical insurance, if it means my taxes go up, right?
Here in Canada, we pay far more in personal income tax than the average American, but we get services for our tax money, it doesn't simply flow into the coffers of the B of A or big Pharma..

I chuckled when I read your post, because I assumed it was tongue-in-cheek. Then I looked at some of your past comments and realized you're serious. You support Bachmann for President because she's willing to stare into a camera and lie through her teeth with no remorse? How is that leadership? I suppose it's no different than Sister Sarah or Grandpa McCain, though.

What a sad state of affairs it is in today's GOP...no ideas, no character, no truth, no clue.

Ya.. A couple that come to mind.

1. Dixie Chicks are entertainers and represent no one but themselves. Bachmann is an elected official and is supposed to be speaking on behalf of ALL her constituency.

2. The Dixie Chicks said they didn't believe the hype about going to war over "believed" WMD (widely proven that there was never WMD and Iraq was years from it). Bachmann is basing some of her stuff on unfounded and unresearched facts.
