Great Christian Huckabee ! Do you think Jesus would agree with you? I am SHOCKED at all the bloodthirsty "Christians" in this country.
How about the 10 commandments...Thou shalt not Kill...If you have entertained these thoughts YOU are GUILTY of murder...or do you just skip that part of the Bible?.

They seem to have completely deleted the NT from their Bibles; especially the teachings of JC.

The funny thing is that Jesus spoke truth to power, which is why he had to be destroyed. Seems to me Assange is doing the same thing. Seems Huckabee and his ilk is busy whipping those oh-so-patriotic non-Christian Christian right into a foaming-at-the-mouth frenzy. Meanwhile, Assange is in my prayers. He is quite an incredible person.

Good for Huckabee, though I still don't heart him.

At the end of the day, it is action, and not intent, that defines a crime. Assange's action constitutes espionage, punishable by death. Thus calling for his killing is within the frameworks and reality of what governments need to do to protect state secrets, and thus, their sovereignty.

Espionage doesn't automatically carry the death penalty. Almost everyone convicted of espionage are just put in prison. There are US citizens who were employees of US intelligence agencies who have done far worse damage to the US than Assange might theoretically have done, and when the US caught them, it prosecuted and imprisoned them. In light of that, to call for Assange's death, is vitriolic.

Not to mention the fact that Assange is an Australian citizen, not a US citizen. The US doesn't have extra-legal rights to grab a foreigner who has leaked low-level secrets and confidential cables, and kill him...wait a minute, I may be being naive about that.

He has protected speach as an journalist. The present US government has completely gone crazy and violent. They should all recuse themselves. It is so disgusting! But not only do these documents expose the US government as brutal killers, there behavior does too.

What exactly has this man done, I don't see nothing but gossip!

Holy mackerel - would someone look outside to see if the moon is blue? Because, strangely, I find myself, as a liberal Democrat feminist, agreeing with both Huckabee and Palin on this.

Like, whoa!

Even broken clocks are right twice a day, I suppose.

Maybe we should punish those politicians that lie to the american public? Execution is a little over the top, but if you insist.
04:59 PM on 12/01/2010
A so called man of god calling for the murder of his political enemies.
How touching!
04:47 PM on 12/01/2010
Does Huckabee really want to open the "guilty of treason" can? When did he become so worried about American lives being put at risk?
04:46 PM on 12/01/2010
Someone committed treason and should be punished, but this is not at the level that execution would be an appropriate punishment.

Mike who?

Wonder how Huckabee feels about war crimes and outing a CIA agent?
05:44 PM on 12/01/2010
One hasn't anything to do with the other. Valerie Plame's outing was wrong - but it doesn't mean Huckabee isn't right in this case.

Outing Valerie during a time of war still put peoples lives at risk, and by law it was just as illegal. And the reason for it was just petty revenge.
