The greatest appeal of becoming a congressmen for millionaires is to make even more money and for millionaire wannabees the certainty of becoming one no matter how stupid you are.

Victory for the people 2014
01:12 PM on 12/01/2010
Tea Party leaders claimed they were going to send to Washington people who were like the American people and understood their needs. It now turns out to be but a new kind of con on the old victims in the poor and middle class. This is a clever bit of manipulation by some of the ever sly rich Republicans, and not all rich people are involved in the duplicity.

Who will speak for the poor and middle class? It remains to be seen. We have the numbers on our side, but the rich Republicans are skilled practitioners of divide and conquer. And they have the money to drive the narrative.

Now they are signaling a class war between the rich and the poor, while many rich people are as appalled by their actions as much as some poor and middle class people.

Let's deny the narrative and keep things simple, but true. All rich people are not the enemy; all poor and middle class people are not friends.

There is a simple test to determine who has the best interest of Americans at heart. It's simple, like Justice Potter Stewart's test for pornography. "I don't know what it is, but I know it when I see it."

When they say "reduce government", or "get the government out of our lives" they willfully leave out "so we can get richer in any way we want (aka by shafting you) with no accountability".

No,we mean get the get out of our lives. The rich can live with a tax rate twice as much as you and me but when you still call them crooks can you blame them. Why don`t we get rid of this crimmnal tax system and go to a sales tax or vat tax and get the control out of washington.Where the real crimminals are.

I really dislike when the Republican Party Leaders say "This is what the American People want"..... they have no clue what we, the American People want. One thing I know for sure, they never asked me what I want, and I am American. Therefore, they need to cut the bull and say "This is what we want".

Depends on the definition of the word people. Maybe they don't consider anyone under a million people.

It's been government by the plutocracy for the plutocracy for quite a while now. The greater mystery is why the excluded vast majority don't rebel more against this. Class warfare at the voting booth is way overdue.

When Republicans Win You Lose

Nothing says "grass roots" like well funded millionaires in congress who will undoubtedly want an immediate Return-on-Investment for their troubles. Watch the scamming, pork, ear-marks, hand-outs, lobbying, and corruption soar.

The Tea Party riding the wrong horse, shooting at gophers while the wolves attack. Great job.

Couldn't agree more, WG, .....Making you an even 300.... As I have noted before, the Tea Cups are like the Evangelicals before them, well-intentioned, but totally deluded, extremists, who believe that the conservative establishment is actually going to move America toward their way of thinking. The prime difference between the two factions is that the former group was New Testament based, while the Baggers often seem to ascribe to Old Testament wrath. Within a few years, the Washington conservative establishment will have no further use for the Bags and will distance themselves from them....

Thx RedStateRefugee. Well stated and back at yah. I just wonder if the TP is ever going to wake up from their "victimhood through government" fog and realize the utter contempt the GOP and their corporate masters have for them. Some of the TP concerns about the Fed or the IRS I share. But their remedies and allies are delusional.

This will insure that Republican greed in congress will vote to continue tax breaks for the wealthy who have been getting richer since Bush gave them a bigger tax break than the rest of us. It succeeded in serfdom for the middle class. Now there is no middle class.

Assuming that's true, what's your point? The point dragonlady was trying to make (I'm assuming) is that republicans are GREEDY, and having GREEDY millionaires coming into the next Congress will not help average americans.
