Almost every major non-profit organization in the world has certain salaried positions.

Why should Wikileaks be any different? It has grown tremendously into a 24/7 operation and paid positions are a logical step.

Very few people have the independent financial resources that they can work full time, strictly as a volunteer. Most of us need a personal income - Assange and his staff are no different.

There's a huge difference between volunteering a few hours a week to a cause and doing that work full-time as one's life's work - one must have income to survive.

So, critics, back off.

How about an IRA account for these non-profit spies too...

It's a shame WikiLeaks and Assange even have to exist in order to expose the crimes of the US. That's what Congress was for; to protect our interests, and what the US Press, the 4th estate, was to watch the watcher not jumped in bed with the crooks and criminals.

Now we have watcher watching the watchers who watch the watchers.

Hit reset please

I've listened to a number of interviews with Assange
http://wp.me/p30mf-3lE and no one has asked what the hold up is on releasing the bank info.

Is it because of the holidays? waiting for maximum effect? anyone know?

By the way, has anyone seen any supporting documentation for this claim?

Quite profitable, the distribution of stolen property.
More like a fencing operation.

Go back and read your "Country's history" on Stolen Property". And what they did to the Native "American. You have nothing to be proud of.

Lol, talk about conflating totally unrelated subjects.
I for the world cannot see what the crimes of early European settlers have to do with J. A. peddling stolen classified documents for profit.

People who are paying this guy in donations should probably hold off until he actually produces something of substance.

The waiting game he wants you to play is a money grab. He's probably now waiting for the banks to pony up, otherwise the awaited bank release would have been done by now....wait for it...wait for it.

Consider the source and don't believe it.

The reason being the journal includes fiction with fact and with bias.
I am sure there is legitimate info here but the journal is not a legitimate news source.
Hasn't been for a very long time.

The WSJ is just much a legitimate news source as whatever news media outlet you would recommend.

The federally initiated and drone regurgitated nonsense regarding what news sources are and aren't legitimate is ridiculous.

In case you weren't aware, all news media is propaganda. This doesn't mean that everything they report is inaccurate, but rather it means that they all have an agenda.

Without politics there would be no individual news entities or conglomerates. As everyone ought to know, you cannot report politics without having already taken a side.

Well, isn't that interesting. The decision to pay salaries - and mostly to Julian Assange.

I don't understand why Assange's most recent rants/threats - this time about journalists - hasn't made the front page of HP. If that isn't a news story for HP, I don't know what is.
10:32 AM on 12/24/2010
Good point. HP is doing a great job of focusing on the content of WikiLeaks, instead of the side issues that readers (most, I suspect) have no interest in reading.

Appreciate the response. Even if it puts down stated factual information and totally misses the point. NOT
