Goldman Sachs will be all over these folks. Value them at an even billion. Trade on their decisions . . . .

Like I would want them around if I won anything. I'd put it all in a local credit union and help my community out.

The odds are one in 14 million for the Canadian 6/49. That means if you buy two tickets a week for 80 years, then you should win the major prize once in every 350 lifetimes. I told my wife-she now hates me-she still buys tickets occasionally.

Sadly, that 1:350 rate is just to win "something" - not to win the big prize. Matching the bonus number plus one other for the lowest redeemable prize counts as a win in that 1:350 ratio.

You misread me wthy. That's once in 350 LIFETIMES (not 350 tickets)

The beauty of the lottery ticket is that you "could be a winner".

Just don't look up your ticket number.

If you do it regularly, like some people I know, it just becomes another bill you have to keep up with. Do you really want that for the miniscule chance you'll win something?

i was gonna run out and get a ticket. but when i did play the lotto from my home state it was difficult to even win 5 dollars and i was putting in a whole lot more than i was getting. either i had bad luck or no luck. so since it was so cold outside i decided that it was okay, i wasn't going to win anyway i kept my coupla dollars and went back to bed.

I can only imagine waking up to find myself being able to take care of my family and friends and get the best healthcare possible and still have enough to help the needy. Congrats to the winners!

I won a $150. On the downside I spent $500. Kind of like investing in Real Estate this last decade.

What I find funny is how people are willing to buy tickets when the lotto reaches high numbers like this one did, but when it is a measly 20 million there is no line. I don't have the lotto in my state, but I drive next door to Idaho and get tickets every five weeks for my mom, sister, and me. It's a fun little hobby and gives me an excuse to go for a nice drive. Someone has to win, it might as well be me someday.

Mathematically, it doesn't make sense to spend a dollar on a lottery until the jackpot reaches high levels, such as $300 million. Though I doubt that's what most people are thinking when they buy a lotto ticket.
