He should have stayed home or done something different...his attendance made no difference to anyone. Too little too late!

Hey people, he has an adopted Jamaican son and since white America reads Jamaicans incorrectly as "African Americans" or "blacks" (they're West Indian) its perfectly fine for the good gov to say racially insensitive things.

I don't believe a word this bagger says.

I think he figured once he went from mayor to governor he no longer had to kiss others' @$$es, especially brown skinned @$$es. What he really thinks, believes and embraces is the words and attitude he imparted last week and in saying he'd tell the President to "go to hell".

He's merely feeling the heat politically. At least last week he was honest.

When conservatives complain about political correctness run amok, they're complaining about forced reversals like this.

They're complaining about the lack of civility they are challenged on.

Absolutely, and it's usually a conservative being "forced" to reverse something stup1d they've said.

I reacted very negatively to his initial remarks. I'm adopting a wait and see attitude on whether this is just tacking to popular winds or a genuine apology.

In times of stress, many people expose their true selves. I think we saw that with Mr. LaPage. You can wait and see if you like, but don't trust him any farther than you can throw him.

Tea Partiers always seem to be having to "walk back" their positions or comments. I would assume because, eventually, they recognize how illogical or insensitive or just downright bizarre they are, and that maintaining them could cost them politically. Further, their doing a 180 just demonstrates what cowards they are, not even supporting their own values in the face of criticism. .......and these are the people that are going to protect the "freedoms" of the naive, gullible Tea Baggers.

You know how sometimes something that sounds good in your head shouldn't be said out loud.

Are we learning anything here Paul?

He knew he had to go to make amends. In my opinion he has already committed political suicide.

Big Pink, Well, with the amnesia currently being exhibited by the electorate in general, and the repubs and TPers specifically, I don't share your expectation.
