They are used to being separated. She in washington, him in Houston or the Cape. She has plenty of family and friends to help her recover. You know she wants him to go.

Why do you keep commenting "you know she wants him to go" when most of us never even knew who she was a month ago? We don't know anything about these people or her true condition, only what the media is leading us to believe.

Probably best not to give advice or judge. He'll do the right thing. He's a great guy.

Years of training, if what I heard of her she'd want him to go, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The shuttle missions are being scrubbed.

He's been in space 3 times...so it would be a 4th in a lifetime opportunity for him.

Why is this news? Let them get through this without being in the spotlight. Its a personal decision he can make without the help of a whole nation of busybodies.

Who better than Gabby would know the real value of living each day to the fullest? I think she'd want him to go with his dream.

She was very supportive of his career before -- would that change now? I would like to see him go and do it in her honor.

I would want my husband to go....our life has been about growth for both partners...but of course it depends on their personal agreement. a marriage is an agreement between two personalities...as much as we wish to believe in cookie cutter roles, they just don't exist.

No question if it were me in his position....stay with my wife. I gave blood for my job and less than a week after I took early retirement, I don't think they hardly even remembered my name. Taught me a lot! It makes sense at some points during our career to 'do what it takes' to get ahead and forego being with the family to get ahead and maximize our earning potential, but when it's all said and done, you ARE dispensable at work, but not to your family. Put family first!

Life is too short. Family is the best thing she needs you more than anything. Support her, be with her, encourage her.

If it were me, I would want my spouse to go, especially when there is a lot of support with me while he is away. It is not as if he has not been there. No one should criticize that, it would be their personal decision.

It's your life to live. Do as you wish, Mark. I for one will not judge you.
