Can no longer take any more of Peggy's slow-talking, pedantic musings....."they" can attempt to rewrite Reagan's legacy but for those of us who lived through it.......it was economically devastating

Its an Ishtar thing.  They don't control one of Gaza's borders, so their pain, death and suffering falls into the same category as those in Sudan.

The shameful moderation by Mod2s on the Egyptian thread made me recall Pulitzer-Prize winning Watergate Journalist Carl Berstein's Rolling Stone article on the Media:

=================================

"The history of the CIA’s involvement with the American press continues to be shrouded by an official policy of obfuscation and deception for the following principal reasons:

■ The use of journalists has been among the most productive means of intelligence gathering employed by the CIA. Although the Agency has cut back sharply on the use of reporters since 1973 primarily as a result of pressure from the media), some journalist operatives are still posted abroad.

■ Further investigation into the matter, CIA officials say, would inevitably reveal a series of embarrassing relationships with some of the most powerful organizations and individuals in American journalism.

Among the executives who lent their cooperation to the Agency were Williarn Paley of the Columbia Broadcasting System, Henry Luce of Tirne Inc., Arthur Hays Sulzberger of the New York Times, Barry Bingham Sr. of the LouisviIle Courier Journal, and James Copley of the Copley News Service. Other organizations which cooperated with the CIA include the American Broadcasting Company, the National Broadcasting Company, the Associated Press, United Press International, Reuters, Hearst Newspapers, Scripps Howard, Newsweek magazine, the Mutual Broadcasting System, the Miami Herald and the old Saturday Evening Post and New York Herald Tribune.

By far the most valuable of these associations, according to CIA officials, have been with the New York Times, CBS and Time Inc."

In related breaking news.....in Palm Beach County Florida, a giant Reagan balloon, being filled with hot air by Rush Limbaugh to commemorate the Gipper's birthday exploded due to the excess of methane gas in Limbaugh's system. The windbag was stunned, but otherwise unhurt, and tiny pieces of plastic balloon were strewn over several counties. Reagan fans who had gathered to witness the ascension of St. Ronnie were scrambling to find the pieces in order to prevent any defiling of their sacred leader's parts.

Well, Jason didn't cover Fox Noise to day, and guess what - I don't miss it!

speak for yourself....perhaps I have a stronger stomach,but I have to admit,Jason's coverage of FNS is often my favorite aspect of the entire report.

seriously,Brit Hume?....Liz Cheney?....these people are HI-larious....in other words,the other programs are supposed to be the best that American journalism has to offer,on the most important issues of the week,and this makes me sad,very sad.

Fox,on the other hand?....I expect so little of these people,and therefore their astounding degree of nonsense and hypocrisy is actually EASIER for me to digest(so to speak).

It is sooooo nice for anyone on the Matthews program to simply disagreew with Matthews.  Not only did they disagree, they made Matthews eat a slice of humble pie.  On Matthews assertion that america missed the boat and should have seen the revolt in Egypt coming, the guests said in essence...America was on top of the situation but no one could foretell what the flashpoint would be, and further that there is nothing to US could do about it.  On the 2012 presidential elections, which Matthews' labeled as his "hot topic"... ?... of the week, Woodward said we are too far out from the 2012 elections to say much about it and that current conditions could change between now and 2012.  Kersmack, pie in the face for Matthews and a blow for freedom for the talking bobblehead brigade. Hurrah!
