After checking online during my lunchbreak ( 2pm est) Thursday and reading that Mubarak was about to resign, the news in the evening was heartbreaking. Keep courage Egypt, though your wait looks longer than we thought.

President Mubarak is moving in the right direction with confidence. Today must be a peaceful day, no matter how many fill the streets.

The situation in Egypt reminds of Toscanini's exit as Music Director of the NBC Symphony at the end of a long and legendary tenure. One evening, he started a concert by giving the downbeat to one work while the orchestra started playing another piece. The orchestra kept playing the piece that had been scheduled. Toscanini immediately recognized that he was conducting the wrong music. Soon after that concert, he resigned. Mubarek is still conducting the wrong piece and can't recognize the music the orchestra now is playing. The pity of it is, that Mubarek could still play a productive role in shaping his nation's future, but he can't or won't face the music.

NebDem awoke one day and went outside of his sod house to crank the generator a few times.
Something is happening in bigcityville! The ground was damp. The extension cord, it's bright orange, swam amongst the bunch grass and slithered towards the worn out path that separates the gramma and the footsteps of industry. NebDem needs to know what happened to Christina Aquilera's face. Why didn't Ben Roethlisberger wear his gloves during the Superbowl? Was redemption naked? NedDem, lost in thought, was bitten by the extension cord; falling bottom over appetite.
Several minutes later he was in his soddy sitting on a chair trying to determine what he was thinking about before the orange grass snake reclaimed the gramma. There was a web-site that can connect a little sod house to the world. It does exist.
The computer shuts down when the big air planes fly over head, leaving trails of smoke that scars a clear azure sky. Who are those people in those big aero-planes? Do they always fly-over? Can they see this treasure I call a sod-house?
The white page of paper is once again turned on. To display the scenery of a man with a big top hat flicking cigar ashes from the big seats. The shame in the ash descending downward and onto the faces of the little ones that pick at the cherry stems, nose to the ground, snout full of lent, the tail is twirled, and they think...

RULING FINANCIAL ELITES FEAR ANY MASS UPRISING WILL SPARK WORKERS AROUND THE WORLD!

FalseConsciousness:  The spark was lit in Tunisia and Next Egypt as workers throughout the Middle East, Africa, and beyond wake up to their rights and POWERS to fight against the profound and protracted INJUSTICES of world Monopolistic Vampire Capitalism.  This is focusing the Domination of the FEW against the suffering masses throughout the world.

"The demands of millions of Egyptians for democratic rights, jobs and decent living standards are incompatible not merely with the presidency of Hosni Mubarak, but with the entire system of capitalist ownership and imperialist domination that are responsible for the country’s grinding oppression and stark social inequality.

"The burning question posed to the Egyptian revolution is the building of a mass movement of the working class, rallying behind it all the layers of the rural poor and oppressed, to lay the foundations for a popular insurrection. Only such a movement can confront the power of the military, the base of the regime, and break the masses of conscript soldiers from the discipline of a wealthy and corrupt command."

Dawgspiel said:  “When I was a kid, I was dumbfounded by photos of Buddhist monks setting themselves ablaze in Vietnam, sitting there serenely as they became human torches.  The monks were protesting their corrupt government. The man in that small village in Tunisia did the same thing to protest his oppressive government. Now, it's spread to Egypt.  People around the world are tired of getting the scraps and they're tired of getting hauled off in the dead of night to have their feet flayed for making bad jokes about their particular dictator in a cafe.

In America, the Tea Party is right to feel that things have gone wrong, but they've picked the wrong target for their wrath. Once they figure it out, well, I wouldn't want to be the Koch brothers.”
