KC Hall in UT Arlington. Looks more like a fancy hotel with suites, and many other plush amenities!

Sorry guys. The best dorms in the country are at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. My room opened out to a pool where clothing was optional.

I am glad to see living arrangements that look like they respect a student's privacy.  Much better than when I attended college 30 years ago and we still had communal showers with no shower curtains.  I always wondered how anyone could have thought that acceptable.

LMAO!  How did you know?

On the other hand... part of the allure WAS the fact that dorms were so ghetto...lol.  I went to a girls school and our freshman dorm was the total pits.  You upgraded every year and everyone anxiously awaited their senior year because you'd go to the high rise.  Da.mn if we didn't go co-ed my junior year and those SLOBS got the high rise!

Glad to see my soon to be alma mater, GSU, on there. I didn't stay on campus, as I was 23 when I returned to school, but I did tour this facility and they looked fantastic. Clean, quiet and roomy.

The author should go west of the Mississippi sometime.
My son's dorm at Stevenson college at UCSC is simply incredible. Nestled in RedWoods sitting atop the hill with spectacular views of the ocean and Monterey Bay. I loved my alma mater but this campus makes most that I've seen seem like ghettos.

Cant beat UCSC.

It is for people who cant get into Berkeley or Stanford

The buildings at UCSC are seperated by mini forests which is why so many serial killers picked it to find girls to kill.

The commenter's note about University Commons @ Georgia State is incorrect. University Commons was not built for the Olympics. The Olympic Village did become student housing for Georgia State after the 96 Olympics, but that has since been "sold" to Georgia Tech (which is closer to the Village than GA State). University Commons is newer (built in the last 4 years) and is located Downtown much nearer GA State campus and within walking distance. Still, University Commons is an amazing facility and quite a nice addition to Downtown Atlanta.

you guys forgot UCF who has brand new highrise dorms on campus with housekeeping services and theres even a dog friendly building. These college lists always seem to fall short

I completely agree. The Towers at UCF come with a private parking space option and are better than most of the off-campus apartments.

Gramercy Green at NYU is the best dorm in the country. Touch screen microwaves, floor to ceiling windows, and amazing views. http://nyunews.com/housingguide/gramercy-green/description/

Please explain to me how this bolsters anything at NYU beyond how much money they fleece from the students. $15,000 for a dorm room for nine months is absolute lunacy. I shake my head in shame when I see BU and Northeastern erect similar highrise dorms up here, instead of, say, building new academic buildings, hiring more tenure-track professors, or expanding financial aid.
