Right, because they are not actually the "Job Creators" the GOP makes them out to be, but disconnected investors, and corporate sky gods concerned only with self-interest, and with other equally disconnected investors. Curious, because the last thing I would want to be if I were rich, in a culture where so many have so little, is ostentatious. But then, when in history have those who rule not thought themselves invincible?

Well, there you go again. As that dumbf**k Ronald Reagan used to say all the time. Proof that trickle down economics works very well, indeed. You give the huge tax breaks and all the blue collar diamond tiara makers, you know? The union stiffs who make diamond necklaces, they get huge wage increases. I love America!!!

Let me just say what a supreme waste of skin Ronald Reagan was. What an assinine doofus and idiot. I hate that the American people were ever subjected to this hunk of pus.

Dear Friends,

The funny thing is the wealthy include every single member of Congress, and Mr Obama, something to think about before 2012.

Most of these people had no money before they were elected and now they are multi-millionaires, if case people care.

Actually, I would dare say most of the wealthy in Congress were wealthy before they ever got there. Politics is not a poor man's sport.

Dear Chauncey,

Most of them have been government employees their whole life.

Al Franken did make a lot of money starring in a Stuart Smalley movie.
05:18 PM on 04/15/2011
Dear Baxtron,

He is one of the few that has not spent his hole live at the government food basket, but he was a lawyer, and this is as close to the government as you can get.

All laywers depend on the government for jobs, just like a government employee, they are a tax on the working class.

See, they needed the tax-cuts. That island in the Maldives isn't going to pay for itself. Me and you are, instead of getting access to healthcare. Hopefully they'll be nice enough to send a post card...

Want to default your country? Default your job!

Here is what I want you to do: Go to your elderly grandmothers house, take all of her social security checks, raid her cookie jar of her modest savings, prevent her from going to the doctor, and send all that money to the wealthy. Be sure and hit her up every month on a regular basis.

OR! Vote dem 2012.

No one has a problem with them spending THEIR hard earned money. Just don't take the hard earned money away from the poor and give that to them as well.

Don't cut billions in education and hand it to them.

Got it?

let's, just for the sake of argument, assume that I'm one of "them". Pray tell, how has any education money been "given" to me? Did I miss a check in the mail?

What a smarmy and soulless comment...

Because you'd rather poor kids die in America from treatable diseases than the ultra-wealthy pay a Clinton-era tax rate. Come on, seriously, look in the mirror -- if you sill can...

Really? Because I think people should be able to use their own property, that means I'd rather have kids die than increase a tax rate. Go back, search my posts from just yesterday, I've been posting consistently posting, for about 3-4 months now, that the rates on incomes over 500K should be raised. Let me ask you? How do you look yourself in the mirror when you are so prone to rash, baseless and absolutely wrong conclusions?
03:31 PM on 04/15/2011
Of course! This calls for even more tax cuts for the rich to celebrate!
04:44 PM on 04/15/2011
Dear Abstrakt,

Most wealthy pay no taxes while the The average tax rate of the top 400 fell to 16.6% in 2007 from 22.9% in 2002.

So not sure how they can cut their taxes anymore.

You know, you're right. There is this secret message system among all "the rich" where they plot how to ruin all of your lives.
04:32 PM on 04/15/2011
They plot how to ruin their own lives as well as every else's...they just don't think of it that way and, indeed, have no idea what they're doing except that they're entitled. They way they see it, they're far more worthy than other people because they already have 'earned' some sum of money (whether they've actually earned it or not) and simply deserve far more than they've got because what they currently have serves as proof that they are more worthy than others and, therefore, deserve far more. It's cutely insane and obviously circular illogic, but that abject surrender to greed (and the egalitarian delusion conveniently provided by voodoo economics) does not permit rational thought (because it might be shockingly at odds with what is most convenient for greedy people to believe).

so far the secret members of the rich agenda havent notified me of their plans to ruin peoples lives! Perhaps I missed the memo while growing some organic food in my back yard with my children. Seeds are cheap you know, do a little providing for your self and it will lessen your anger aganist others you dont know. Its quite relaxing to provide healthy food for your family, regardless of your income or intolerance for others you dont even know.

There is no way the 1% can make up the economy.  And who will buy their products, their inventions, when no one can afford it?
03:54 PM on 04/15/2011
A lot of this wealth is not conventional products and inventions.
They're "trading paper" with each other.
