My Poor America...

The Risk of Power:

Born out of technology developed in the search for the world’s most powerful bomb, nuclear power has ever since cast a heavy shadow over its benefits.
The images of what was left of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 after the United States dropped the atomic bomb scarred the world -- 200,000 people died in an instant, and once-bustling cities were pulverized into dust.

WHAT ARE CORPORATIONS DOING FOR "EARTH DAY".
K I L L I N G the planet, that's what!

No, particular people are at the source of this problem and they are heavily conservative in government and industry.

The US government is one of the largest polluters, talk to Mr Obama about that.

No, I have not done anything to save the world today. The world is not the problem. People are the problem. Far, far too many of them, far, far too rapacious for the Earth to sustain. I support climate change and environmental degradation, air pollution, planetary ice melt, and any other current phenomenon which will ultimately end in a "global population adjustment" of the human species, what environmental scientists call "die off." The Earth will regenerate itself. Always has, always will. Species will arise to fill niches left by those driven to extinction by Humankind. Throw in another ice age in the next 10,000 to 15,000 years to wipe away every trace, and the place will be like new in just about 50,000 years. Earth, 5211 BCE -- the place to be.

Wow,

You don't see us as part of the evolutionary process? We are what we are. Viruses are part of the evolutionary process and would multiply and destroy it's environment if allowed. We are no worse than that. Mother Gaia produced us and will eventually take us back. c'est la vie!

Ask your friends one question for me: "do you really get together and rent Russell Crowe's 'A Good Year' and laugh uproariously every time they say the name 'Fanny?'"

That's taking it too far... will plant too many conspiracy theories, at least in America. Perhaps in your country, all is good with that, afterall, the Cree XML (led) will be about TEN times as effficient... maybe they should ban the CFL as well...

What did I do? I worked (staining a deck so as to preserve it and thus less trees could "possibly" be used in the future to rebuild said deck)... actually, needed the money, but will never be enough to pay for the electric car that is still just a "silly" dream.
Needless to say, all this running around "for Earth day ain't gonna do any good".
This is because we won't figure out how to fight for a change in our 19th and 20th century infrastructure and mobility habits...

What I can do now is point deniers to the following little animation that shows just how big the box would be that would hold all the coal and oil humanity has burnt and converted over to CO2 (yes, the very air we breath is actually 1/10,000th "heavier" with the infrared absorber...
