I don't about British law , but here in Calif , he would not need a prenup in order to protect his assets. In Calif , inheritence , money you had before marriage ,and the income from inheritence and money and property possessed before marriage are separate property and she could not get one cent in the event of divorce.

I live in CA, too, but British law is vastly different.  Gifts to one party are also separate property.  Proceeds of the sale of something that was purchased with separate property is separate property. There's quite a bit that's separate property.  I was married and divorced here ;)

He wouldnt need one - unless of course he wants to protect his military income... Everything else is provided by the royal trust which he technically does not own.

precisely battlinbob. No prenup necessary.

No prenup! I guess those centuries of inbreeding have had an effect on this guy's judgement.

Only in America could there be a line like "marriage with no prenup". How quaint. These people are royals and not wealthy or common Americans. Get off trying to impose or think these royals act like us. Another thing! In British Royalty Charles will be King after his mother the Queen dies. There is no such thing that "Harry is much younger and popular and should be elevated". We are talking about Britain where there is precedent and not wishful thinking. Get with knowing there is another set of rules out there for different countries. Geez the stupidity of this nation about the world out there.

Why would he need a prenup? He could always have her beheaded. Is there not such a British precedent?
08:43 PM on 05/02/2011
nope that was English precedent Britain came along centuries later .But you can tie two different royal families together who ruled in in times separated by centuries.

An extensive tradition of torture in the Tower of London, too. Why not defend that as vociferously?

No prenup? "That's something that you need to have, 'cause when she leaves your *ss, she's gonna leave with half"

She married him for his grandmother's art collection- joking. Considering what she is going to have to put up with over the coming decades, half of everything he has and stands to inherit seems a small price for him to pay to convince her to go from Royal mistress to Royal wife.

Yeah, I was just thinkg about how rough life is going to be for her now that she married into a royal family (rolls eyes)
07:59 PM on 05/02/2011
snide but we have no idea.  She isn't her own person anymore altho I think Kate Middleton knows who she is.  And to be honest...I think all these remarks are nasty and meanspirited.  I think he did not do this pre nup because he wants and hopes and will try to make this marriage last.  And I applaud him/them for this.  This is not Charles and the 'chosen" Diana.  Wont' anybody wish them well, this newly married couple.
