Let's stop pointing fingers for a second and deal only in facts.

FACT: A terrorist attack on American soil happened under George W Bush's watch

FACT: The leader responsible for the attack was tracked down, found and faced justice, resulting in his death, under Barack Obama's watch

Without pointing fingers, that pretty much sums it up.

OBAMA 2012

Get your facts straight. Bush did not want to find Bin Laden and dowplayed his importance in more than a few words. Bush dismantled the FBI section assigned to get OBL. The info to find Bin Laden was gotten from regular techniques not waterboarding.

Keep trying to get the facts out. They may not like it, but like water to the wickedwitch, it burns and melts them away.
10:53 PM on 05/08/2011
Pure nonsense. Bush downplayed the importance because he didn't want people to think that the war on terror was unsuccessful unless we got Bin Laden. He didn't quit looking for Bin Laden.

"honestly, I did not see the interview, was this article about it?"...so your complete unfimiliarity with the subject matter doesn't preclude you from making analysis and observation. Sarah....is that you???

As I watch our President brief the American public and the world how, what, and the purpose of last weeks removal of a criminal that had been hiding for almost ten years, I felt a confidence.

This confidence is of respect for an intelligent, eloquent and stately man who must have carried immense burden in his decision to commit and execute this mission. I am pleased that I cast my vote in 2008 and will look forward to 2012 to reinforce my confidence.

I feel a bit of shame and sadness, that the past two years of his term has been busied by cleaning up and clearing the table of the prior two terms of W.

I say reelect President Obama to allow him to lead our country and it's citizens to the United States that many of us remember as a world leader in technology, trade and future measures for our generations to come.

Thank you Mr President and the entire team that has finally a chance to exemplify what "Change" really means.

It is a very complicated sitution. We all have our opinions. My own reaction is to be reactionary because I don't have all the facts. I'll trust a real expert like Dick Lugar to guide us through the maze. Lugar is the best case against term limits in the senate.

I think that with a whole year of having a majority in the House and a super majority {filibuster proof} Senate and the White House they blew it. If they could have agreed and voted party lines they could have passed any legislation they wanted. The American people reacted by voting them out of power in two short years. Back when the 104th Congress Rep. won a historic victory, giving them control of both houses of Congress for the first time in forty years. They made an honest effort and it showed with the voters. 2006 they became complacent and were voted out. Pelosi and Reid should get as much credit as Bush from 2006-08 and then more so from 2008-10 for blowing a super majority of power. With that kind of power there is no reason it should take so long to fix things, it was poor leadership and the false confidence of America to believe the lies of blaming others for your own inept ability to lead the country in the right direction. I really hope Obama comes around, but he is not serious about change, they all say they are but in the last 23 years I have been voting it has not changed, they promise you everything and deliver on little. Problem is, in 8 years a new generations votes and its new to them. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, these are the four best we have to offer, good God are we in trouble.
10:32 PM on 05/08/2011
He just fills the role as President of the United States so amazingly well. Really proud of the guy. Voted for him, had high hopes for him, but I never imagined he'd be sitting down doing an interview about an operation he personally ordered to take out Osama Bin Laden.

"Bush...that guy was real" What a bad joke. You do know that he FAILED at every buisiness he was in. Thats a tough thing to do in the oil and gas industry. With each failure he got a golden or platinum parachute. He was backed by his family and the house of Saud and friends. He is the most successful failure I know of. Buying interest in a sports team was his only good move and he was draged into it. You are just not paying attention. Total failure as president and all of us are still paying for it and will be for YEARS.

All president Obama is trying to do is make america greta again and fulfill his promises he made. God is with him and from what I see America NEEDS The President More Than He Need Us. the World Needs His Wisdom And Leadership.

Mission accomplished? Obama showed his cards when a top secret helicopter went down. Then while it's still in Pakistani hands, Peanuttia called them incompetent. Brilliant! And for what was this secret exposed? A bump in poll numbers? That's all that has changed.

10:57 PM on 05/08/2011
Yes, mission accomplished. The helicopter was not a huge secret, it was known that there was a stealth helicopter. Is this is what you are b*tching about? Obama showed nothing other than he's more compentent Comander-in-Chief than Bush.
11:28 AM on 05/12/2011
Are you more "in the know" than China? I think not. All those books going to waste. "Pakistani officials may allow China to plunder the treasure trove that is the Osama Bin Laden's compound where the remains of a downed top-secret US stealth helicopter remains.
The helicopter, previously only having existed in rumors, crashed during the US raid of Bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound. US Navy seals attempted to destroy the craft to hide its secrets but some parts managed to survive the explosion – including the uniquely designed tail.“[The helicopter] was a secretly developed stealth helicopter, probably a highly modified version of an H-60 Blackhawk,” explained Bill Sweetman, editor of Aviation Week to The Daily Mail. “Photos show that the helicopter's tail features stealth-configured shapes on the boom and tip fairings, swept stabilizers and a 'dishpan' cover over a non-standard five-or-six-blade tail rotor.”

Some US officials say they would be more surprised if China has not already swooped in to take a look at the crash site. The days after the raid local children and townspeople were taking pictures of the helicopter. Some were playing on the wreckage. It would have been easy for Chinese agents to walk up, analyze the craft and snap many high-quality images or take video.

WOW! The NeoCons here on HP are attacking Obama with the same resolve that Obama attacked and killed Osama bin Laden. The only difference is that Obama used his intellegence where as the NeoCons here continue to pursue the failed Bush approach of pushing out lies.
Sorry - it didn't work for Bush and it won't work for you. When will you people ever learn your lesson?

But all that matters is this. We got him, you didn't. Let's move on.
