He should have held it in until he was off the air, but I plainly see how this, whatever could drive him to it. She is the most outspoken rude individual. l flick to Fox for a second and see her face, she irks me so, I want to throw something at the TV

Sure this was inappropriate. Conceded. But to those who wail and moan and gnash their teeth over this, it would seem appropriate to compare this rude comment with legislation that takes from poor women the opportunity to get cancer screenings from Planned Parenthood. If you are so "Pro Woman", are you as outraged about legislation which compromises the lives and health of thousands of poor women as you are with a single rude comment against an incendiary bigmouth who, frankly, puts herself out there, ginning up anger and revulsion with her angry, ugly and repulsive comments?

Ed Schultz I have to thank you for standing up when you make a mistake and apologizing as you did . Maybe fox will teach Hannity , Orielly , Beck or radio shock jocks Rush , Savage , ect...will be educated on how to say your sorry . Ed is a class act and not afraid be responsible for what he says like some other cowards .

A very classy apology! Stay cool, Eddie! We need you fighting for us middle class people!
10:58 PM on 05/26/2011
An apology only AFTER he was called on it. You lefties don't even listen to Hannity et al so how do you know what they will say? BTW, it's "you're sorry" - not "your sorry". I figure if you're going to talk about 'education' you may want to GET a bit of it before trying to "school" someone else. You know - in ENGLISH spelling and grammar?

Since they are not posting your reply to my comment above about Planned Parenthood, I will respond here.
Before you start braying that someone is a “fool” for stating facts, you might want to check the facts. “Planned Parenthood provides nearly one million Pap tests and more than 830,000 breast exams each year, critical services in detecting cancer.” http://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/who-we-are/planned-parenthood-glance-5552.htm I guess I WAS wrong in that I stated that “thousands” of women get cancer screenings from Planned Parenthood, when in reality it is hundreds of thousands. SO, my facts being more than accurate, my point stands. Where is the outrage that these services are being cut, with potentially devastating health consequences for nearly two million women, as opposed to an insult (which I conceded was inappropriate) about some bigmouth who foments hate, vitriole and ugliness?
As for the rest of your comment, do you really expect us to believe that a Laura Ingraham supporter is angry that President Obama was overseas at the time of this tragedy? He has FEMA on full throttle, doing everything that can possibly be done to help the people affected. Had he gone, you’d be saying that he was grandstanding. Heck, if he flew into the tornado and turned it back, you’d be mocking him. You haters are pretty transparent.

I agree that someone in his position shouldn't say something like that. Televised political dialogue should attempt to be above the level of Beavis and Butthead. If he wants to vent like that he should do it over beer with his buddies.

Eddy is apologizing to the wrong person. He should apologize to all the working women out there for insulting them by associating that little right wing tool with them.

He can't say this. He was wrong. Period.

And what he needs to realize is that his position has momentum. This type of extremism is only harmful to the momentum his side of the equation wants and needs.

MSNBC should take responsibility for hiring such a violent speaking man in the first place. Trash talking is totally out of control on both MSNBC and FOX.

Ed may be on the right side of the issues, but his is grossly negative commentator. Send him to a school on diplomacy or at least have him read, "How to Make Friends and Influence Enemies."

It is totally inappropriate for him to be a spokesperson for progressive causes. A real disaster.
12:41 PM on 05/26/2011
Go watch Fox. If you think MSNBC should fire Ed, you had better think FOX should fire Bill and Sean. You want negative, Hannity specializes in it.
02:19 PM on 05/26/2011
they are republicans so he doesn't want them fired. it's that hypocrisy thing the repubs are known for.

So Ed said something about Laura. Laura shot back a couple of insults of her own. Does it REALLY matter? Unfortunately, each party has forever taken pot shots at the other’s leaders – silly, meaningless, pointless pot shots. I don't care where the President goes (be he Democrat or Republican), what he chooses to drink, whether he pronounces every word with perfection, or uses a teleprompter. I care about serious issues facing our country and what is being done to move in the direction of making them better. I'm a Republican and I didn't vote for President Obama. Some of his positions I disagree with, some I agree with, and the rest I don’t care about. But the simple fact that he's a Democrat and I'm a Republican doesn't mean that in my eyes he can do no right. I don't have a need to slam him for every little thing he may or may not do, and in my opinion, while doing so or calling names or whatever may be a waste of time, it would also be completely irrelevant. My position holds true for all the talkers as well. I don’t agree with everything Ed says. As an example, I don’t agree with his comment regarding Laura but I'm not up in arms about it either. To me, it doesn’t REALLY matter. It's one man’s opinion and comment, both of which he is allowed to have and make. So somebody said something… must everyone circle for the kill?
11:43 AM on 05/26/2011
Wow, a reasonable republican. Nice to know there are some out there.
02:19 PM on 05/26/2011
Thank you for your comment. It is so nice to see a reasonable response and a desire to focus on what is really important. The mud-slinging needs to stop, and I appreciate someone who can state that so eloquently.
