I don't understand the left's infatuation with Warren. She has no real life financial experience. She's a lawyer (who never practiced law either) who teaches law and writes about financial theory. I don't agree with this law at all but if this has to go forward, how about a Director with extensive real life financial experience.

I could say I don't understand the right's fear of Ms. Warren, but I do understand it. She is competent and will represent consumers.. The problem lies in the fact that the only ones who seem to get these regulatory jobs are people with "real life financial experience", IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY! So they are part of the problem and will do all that they can to continue the current practices. Do you not understand that their needs to be changes?

aside from her experience in foreclosure mitigation, consumer and small business lending, commercial real estate, bank stress tests, the impact of TARP on the financial markets, government guarantees, the automotive industry, financial regulatory reform and farm loans, I'd just want to ask:

do engineers need real-life astronaut experience to design spaceships?

do cops need real-life criminal backgrounds to make arrests?

This lady is strong and will carry out her job. That's what really scares these men. I really think she is perfect for this position and the President should just put her in and forget this nonsense.

"Republicans who say she lacks a sufficient financial industry background"

In this case, that's like saying that we should elect sheriffs who are criminals.

Well, according to republican doctrine, Elizabeth Warren, like all women, is a l.oose t.highed, g.enocidal b.aby k.illing machine, who is too s.tupid to know she's pregnant unless and instrument is put inside her to show her the fetus, and too i.rresponsible to make the decision on whether to risk her life in pregnancy.
She's also, like all women, unlikely to know whether or not she's been r.aped, and naturally inclined to cry r.ape for no reason.
This is the republican view of women.
Now I ask you, if you shared that view, would YOU want such a person in a position of power?
It's no news that republicans are m.isogynysts, and as someone they despise just as much, it's no surprise that Barney Frank has noticed.
(Although it's got to be pretty obvious to everyone by now)

I really do not think it is that she is women so much as that she has more smarts than any ten republicans combined. The is what scares them and that is why they do not argue facts with her. It is a joke to consider a panel of five. Just look at how our rightous supreme court is making out these days. And , they are under more ethical standards than anything in the other braches of goverment.

I wouldn't say they are necessarily sexist. They are however, corporatist in every way shape and form.

I have to disagree with Barney - her opponents may BE sexist - but their greatest concern by far is that she will actually DO her job...

So true-we have to have push back against the Republicans, who have been working at defunding the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, which oversees derivatives. Derivatives played quite a part in the crash of 2008.

Pushing her toward a Senate run might be a way to take any actual muscle out of financial reform. I suspect folks who want her anywhere but on the consumer financial protection front.

So if u disagree with me or if I am wrong is one thing, but to play the games, just is not working anymore. Can't u guys see it, it will come around if u play that game to long.

Her opponents don't like her because she is not bought and paid for, like them, she is not ignorant, like them, and she is for the American people, unlike them. Bullies really have a hard time with those who stand up to them.

I think it's a stretch and a straw-man to say they don't like her because she's a woman.

However, it's obvious why they're attacking her anyway; they don't like anyone telling businesses what to do, and God forbid, to look out for their consumers.
