"These were people who care about their nation just as deeply as Limbaugh and his followers do."

Good grief! The only thing that Rush Limbaugh cares about is hauling in more listeners to his radio show and getting wealthier for it. If he cares so much, why doesn't he donate one of his millions of dollars to the relief effort instead of his agenda-laden tea?
02:30 AM on 07/04/2011
Where's obama donating any of his millions? Where's pelosi? Where's reid?

I thought all of those people wanted to spread the wealth...

Obama does donate money. His peace prize money went completely to charity. It was over one million dollars. Say that about Limbaugh.

Why would you say that, UKLLee? Who told you such things? Why in heavens name do you think wealth is something to either be hoarded or spread?

That's an unusual way to look at the world.

I wonder if the people of Joplin will remember that Rush Limbaugh and his political allies wanted to withhold aid to the people of the Joplin Tragedy until certain Tea Party demands were met.

So Rush announces he will use the Joplin tragedy to grow his audience. Now that's compassion.

Well, if anyone can grow the party, it's Limbaugh. He shovels enough manure from his mouth in the form of fear, lies, character assasinations to raise a large crop of GOP members who thrive with that fertilizer.

The Limbaughciles cannot get enough of it.
12:29 PM on 07/04/2011
Oh, what lies has Limbaugh told? You all love to spout this, but I never see the actual "lies". He talks 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. Media Matters monitors his every word. I'm sure he gets a few things wrong (very few), but lies? Give me a few real lies. I'll be waiting.

Truth hurts. Limbaugh doesn't hold back, and is funny. He said he wanted Obama to fail and everybody jumped on him. He was right. He wanted his agenda of wrecking this country to fail. More and more people understand this with each passing day.

1) I suppose you are right in that whether or not something is a lie depends on our definition of "is" and
2) he is never funny. he may seem funny to you in the same way a bully can be funny when Ha Ha bullying someone else who you happen to already dislike. That is about the only "comedic idea" he expresses. go ahead link us to his greatest comedic moments. you will prove the point.

A few examples:
Limbaugh: "He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. ... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting." --Rush Limbaugh, on an ad by Michael J. Fox

Fact: Michael J Fox had to cease his acting career because of the illness. It was not an act.

Limbaugh: "It is plain as day what happened here. The United States government ordered the starvation of an innocent citizen who was not dying. ...

Fact: The autopsy results for Terri Schiavo have finally been released and they reveal exactly what reputable medical experts asserted all along. Her brain was mostly gone. It never would have bee possible for her to recover. There were no signs of abuse.

Limbaugh: "thankful we don't yet have Obamacare" or "the death panel" might not have approved Clinton's surgery

Fact:: The section of the reform legislation that caused the furor, which was introduced by a Republican, was optional and totally benign. It merely authorized Medicare (and insurance companies) to pay physicians for their services if, during a period of five years, they are asked to and provide counsel to patients on alternatives to treatment, including hospice or palliative care

There are many more, not to mention the conspiracy theories that he invents and promotes.

Wasn't it Republicans that held aid to Joplin hostage unless and until Congress would agree to their draconian cuts in spending?

Wonder how that will impact their effort to 'grow' the party.
07:19 PM on 07/03/2011
nope ...what we did was say O.K. we agree we need to help these people ....how do we pay for it ....what can we cut somewhere else so that we can do so

If Rush wants to go to bring more attention to the area and help, more power to him. I may be pessimistic but, I believe he will be using this disaster as a platform to mock and insult the president. Based on his previous comments he offers nothing but fear and runs on greed.

Since he is already talking about growing the GOP, telling those that are suffering that Obama is 100% of the reason they are having a hard time. Funny enough if Obama had flown there immediately Rush would have been yelling about how the President is using this disaster for politics and how his visit will impede aid arriving due to security concerns.

It is a shame, he has a lot of listeners and he could have just shown up and motivated people to volunteer and donate, instead he will point to the "Socialist" President as the one responsible and push people to volunteer and donate to the Republican party, instead of their fellow Americans.

It's funny that Rush and his camp were responsible for impeding aid in the first place.

When President Obama traveled to Joplin, he was there as the President of the United States, who just happens to be President to all of us and not just those people that voted for him.

When tragedy strikes, that is the time for all of us to come together as a people and help each other out.

That generosity of spirit and human nature is something that is, alas, totally foreign to Rush Limbaugh.
