Frankly, I think those chalk art pieces are more impressive than this. And those pieces are completely 2 dimensional.

"The work of art may look small in its 3D form, but it's actually huge. It covers 1500 square meters, measures 100 meters long and uses 1200 square meters of lawn. Approximately, 90 gardeners worked for five days to assemble the entire display. Definitely this is huge

I usually think public art is a waste of money, as the projects are often amateurish works picked by a committee -- the least offensive and most bland. This is great though. It makes good use of a public space and invites people to interact. I hope it gets replicated in other cities.
