Quote: "We'll insist on serious reforms to bring accountability and transparency to the agency before we consider any nominee to run it," said McConnell.

What a hypocrit - 'serious reforms to bring accountability' ? - however he doesn't want this same rule applied to all the crooks on Wall Street - and they haven't had to be transparent about where all the bailout money went!

I want to see handcuffs, a perp walk, a guilty verdict - and someone go to jail for heaven's sake.

Common men go to prison for the crimes the banksters have committed, but all they do is pay fines. Where are the investigations of fraud?

Somehow Reid has to get the message that you have to have that vote even if it isn't going to be passed. There is something really stinking in Congress since 2009 and it is permeating this whole country. Now that is all a "duh" statement, I know...but this is getting so tiresome.

I don't know. Holding a vote on something you know won't pass just gives them the opportunity to gloat, and it wastes more time.
And that's what the GOP wants to do; waste time.

If there is the slightest hint that something could be good for the average American, Republicans will oppose it!

At least the Rs are consistent. Obama sez HOPE, Rs say NO, Obama sez CHANGE, Rs say NO. Is anything going to happen in this Congress to improve the lot of the folks in this Country? The Rs still say NO.

Make it a recess appointment Mr President. It will be a popular move. Even Conservatives know the banks are not following policies that are anywhere near reasonable for consumers. Plain English contracts spelling out exactly what the customer's obligations are would be a good start. And policies that require banks to give notice when they change policies so consumers can change banks if they wish should be next.

Let this be the perfect example of what and who Republicans stand for. It is not the common person.

I guess the Republicans are waiting on president Obama to appoint a Fox to guard the hen house.

This isn't news. The financial industry has told the Republicans that they do not want this consumer finance protection agency and so the Republicans have their marching orders. Blocking the head of this agency is only one part of their plan. The other is to defund it so that it is incapable of doing its job. Mission Accomplished!!

Yep. I think it might be the only way Obama is going to get this done. They'll moan and groan about it, but so fricken' what? They moan about everything.
