I guess $teve didn't want to lose the paycheck even after losing respect for Tiger ... isn't it always about the $$$$$$. ????

Steve Williams please note that Tiger was not even loyal to his own wife! What were you expecting? You had obviously served your purpose, Buddy! Just like Elan - two babies and she was out! Best of luck Mr Williams, I do believe you made good money being Tiger's caddy so you should be fine. Go and do something great with you life and forget about Mr Woods, who I believe, will NEVER rebound in the golfing world again. Damaged goods who needs a ton of therapy!

Sometimes it's bet to just part ways.

The unique thing about this relationship is that it was more than just a golf related business partnership, they developed a fairly strong friendship with each other.

Steve will do fine looping for somebody else and Tiger .... well, let's just say he's got some soul searching to do.

Steve, I know it's too late to go back, but you should have left him the day you found out about his "loyalty".

sorry to tell ya, but this has become the norm. The rich, narcissists of this world have no sense of loyalty to others, and will blame everyone around them, especially those who have helped them in some way the most, so as to keep the blame of their own behavior, and faults from being exposed, sorry man, but, it's classic ego driven behavior. You didn't matter.

Except Williams wasn't loyal to Tiger and caddied for one of Tiger's opponents.  The guy carries someone else's bag for a living and became a millionaire, for crying out loud.  Because of Tiger Woods.  Now he's writing a  tell-all book....whatever.

He caddied for Adam Scott while Tiger was still sitting out because of injury. Yes Williams is a millionaire. He is a great caddie. If Tiger is out of commission and another golfer asks him to caddie why shouldn't he?
12:48 PM on 07/22/2011
12 years is not enough for that "caddie"!?!? How entitled can one feel? He probably feels Tiger should have proposed to him after his divorce.

Tiger is the typical male. When you are doing things for him he wants you around. otherwise you're just a nuisance.

Actually, it is not. And I'm glad to be able to say that.

this is precisely why I don't believe in conspiracies. Eventually, people become disgruntled and spout off. Funny how he says he wasted the last two years of his life. I wouldn't hire him now if I was a pro-golfer. We'll see two years from now if he still feels that it was a waste of time when he's looking for work.

I stand corrected. Poor guy, I wonder if in the future, when they're standing next to the winning pin arguing over the shot, if his new boss will think, "will this guy second-guess me to the media if this doesn't go in the cup?"
11:29 AM on 07/22/2011
Caddy, just be glad you were Tigers' caddy and go away.

Absolutely; right on the money.  He is one of the few millionaire caddies- thanks to Tiger Woods.  He sounds like an ingrate.

I saw this break up coming since the scandal broke. Steve Williams basically decided to throw Tiger under the bus to keep his reputation. He was disgusted with Tigers behavior but he didn't mind the money Tiger was making him. So he decided to stick around for the money but also try to stay in line with public opinion and say things like he lost respect for Tiger and so on. If he felt so disgusted with Tiger he should have quit and if he figured the money was worth more than Tigers scandal then he shouldn't have made a comment. You cant expect to berate your boss to stay "liked" and also expect your boss to keep you around. I'm sure Tiger has had animosity after he learned the guy who he made a millionaire was also saying negative things about him in the press. It was only a matter of time before he let him go.

There are always two sides to a story.
Tiger's words about Steve were very gracious.
Steve's words perhaps were sensed by Tiger and if Tiger is making this "fresh start"...
best that it be complete.
Steve has done very well being that its been reported that he donated 1 million to benefit children... and good for him. But if it weren't for Tiger's skills he would not be in the position he is today.
I would be grateful... and being that he is not... shows a side of him that is not a good feature
to bring out in one's personality.
11:32 AM on 07/22/2011
which side of Tiger Woods shows the "good feature".. the fact that he lied or the fact that he cheated on his wife with 382 porn stars?

I see- so if the caddie shared your disgust of Tiger, WHY did he want to keep working for him?  Oh right, so he could ride his coattails further, and make a few more million dollars, carrying a golf bag.
12:50 PM on 07/22/2011
You don't byte the hand that has fed you for 12 years. Who cares if that hand cheated on his wife (why do you care)? How is that relevant to that caddie?

I think a reported 20 million dollars buys a lot of loyalty. Be quiet and move on.
11:08 AM on 07/22/2011
He was loyal to Tiger as long as he was on the payroll and that speaks volumes but now...I see a book deal and we will all read just how much he really knew. This is a bad move for Woods.
11:46 AM on 07/22/2011
I see a lot of ignorant people pretending to know all about Steve Williams, and whose lives must be so pathetic you need to judge people based on your own pathetic values.
