To all the TP'S that will not budge.....You have probably made the United States the laughing stock of most of the world, already have cost money to 401K's, reduced our position to negotiate with an advantage over other countries....possible default is a poor position..... reduced our standing as a powerful nation, and have gotten the majority really ticked off at you guys.

I am in Poland, and quite frankly we are watching this the way you would watch a bomb tech defuse a bomb. You really really hope he is successful, but you're slowly backing away and getting ready to run.

My God..John McCain is the adult in the room...just goes to show you how detached from the American people the Republican Party has gotten.
03:34 PM on 07/28/2011
No, McCain is one of those who made this mountain of debt. He has been there forever and has years and years to change it. Now he acts like a child having a temper tantrum when controlled by the new Republican adults.

Wrong. He is the adult in the room. The Tea Party is a group of radicals that will destroy this country to get their way.

If we default the Republicans will be blamed. Just like Gingrich was blamed for the government shutdown under Clinton.

Now run back to your fascist friends at Fox News.

Sometimes I swear these politicians have their aides on here reading our posts. Just a few days ago we were asking about Mr. McCain's silence on this issue, posters from both sides were waiting to hear from the Maverick and finally he delivered. Too bad McCain did it for pure selfish reasons, he's such a flip-flopper, but hey Arizona is one of the states fated to default first so I guess he had to step his game up.

So McCain was for them, now he is against them.
Don't they know John that they must get in line for all those spending bills that you passed.
This is not about future debt, this is about for years you and dubya going hog wild with the credit card and now the bills are due.
There are many things that this President has and has not done, that upset me, but then I snap back into reality and think, 'imagine if John was in the White house with Sara'? The man who has so many houses, he doesn't know the exact number of them. HA

Wouldn't it be great if all debates within the House and Senate were equally challenging as McCain's?

Rather than the lock-step, straight-jacket muzzle that forces party members to echo canned consultant remarks, isn't it refreshing to hear honest and sincere dissension within a party's ranks?

Isn't that the way real progress is made?

This should be the nature of political debate on a daily basis.....not just 10 minutes in advance of a financial Armageddon when we're staring in the face of a self-made disaster.

If the TEA party has gotten under the skin of an old, establishment DC Republican crony like McCain, they must be doing something right.

This video is taken completely out of context. Check out his discussion with Heir Hannity: http://youtu.be/3eHqTTx8NrE - McCain back peddles and caves on what is implied by the short portion of his remarks shown by the video posted here. These folks are nuts. Hannity and teapartiers do NOT live in reality. We have to pay our bills. Period. End of conversation. Unreal.

In comparison with most of his recent statements, this is a surprising moment of clarity from the senator.
