So was her server a Latina? Maybe she was trying to write Vikie, but mispelled it by thinking phonetically...like how they pronounce "Venezula" "Benezula"?

I feel sorry for the server. "I want my cup" ? Really? I thought you didn't want "your" cup...

Don't excuse it, there is none. If I came and brought something back to the manager's attention and they laughed about it, I would want my cup also.

She's been going there every day for a few years. That's a nice investment she's put into your business and you make light of it and your employees laugh about it?

Yeah, I'd want my cup too.

First of all, anyone that has worked at Starbucks as a Barista knows what it is like to have a line full of complaining people, and as such, nobody's writing is legible. The cup says, "Rita", and this is why the Barista's also call your name with your drink. Also, why didn't she simply go to the Manager? No....she grabs the wrong Caramel Frappucino, and runs out to contact the Media. She is out for a lawsuit, and $$$. Any reasonable human being would look at that cup and see it wasn't theirs, and return for their drink. Instead, she jumps to the conclusion that messy writing can turn into easy money for her.

You didn't read the story at all. She turned down the free money. And she did go to the manager. What's wrong with you?

The problem was that a worker said she made up the situation to get free coffee on her way out.

I think she did make it up, Someone else grabbing the wrong order is not such a rare occurrence and I myself have had other people try to take my orders.

She took Rita's drink

and a badly formed R does not translate into a misspelled bitc. There is no letter H on that cup at all.

What's wrong with me?? Starbucks has absolutely NO concerns with re-making a drink, nor with giving a free coffee. The PROBLEM is that this is in the mainstream Media, when it is obviously a mistake. Who goes to the media over stuff like this? If I am at a restaurant, or a place of business with an issue, I take it up with them. I don't run to the nearest reporter, and start making it into a news story. What money exactly did she turn down, and where was this stated? People are clogging up the airwaves with ridiculous stories like this, and meanwhile, our country is in a serious crisis. If she is switching to the competition, good for her. This is a waste of the Media's time...and everyone elses.

Look at the picture, there is no mistaking that B for an R. Even at the bottom of the cup CRF is written and there is no similarities between the R at the bottom and that B on top.

They ask your name up front and write it down immediately. If this was her second cup, I'm sure they took the extra time to get it straight. It was purposeful and judging by the way they laughed when she came back I would assume this group has a lot to say about their customers behind their backs. If this wasn't the case, there wouldn't have been a group laugh.

If you don't like serving people, even rude ones, then get in another line of work.

Why? She was polite, articulate, and calm. What video were you looking at?

How would you describe their actions of laughing at her and making snide remarks?

This woman has been patronizing that business every day for a couple of years and they though this was funny?

You know it's the bottom of the 2nd Great Depression when Starbucks is selling $85 coffee stain embossed tee shirts. On the bright side I was thinking about a similar design for my $150 tee shirt with "famous" dog poo stains - for all the dog lovers out there. Of course it would be more advanced than the Starbucks because this dog poo designer shirts not only feature the "works" of RinTinTin, Lassie, all of those dogs from recent flicks, and of course that stupid Chihuahua - would be "scratch and sniff" as well.

Well.... I just would have reported it to the manager. Got my free coffee and went about my day.. Don't think I would have called the news..

That's all that probably would have happened but someone had to be a smart butt and throw out a comment about her wanting fee coffee and they all laughed.

Like I posted earlier, she's been coming there everyday for a few years, she deserved better than that.

It appears that this group talks a lot about their customers behind their backs, that's why they all thought it was funny and they felt they can say what they want.

I think other customers might want to know what you think about them while they spend their money.

This is big news? Get over it! Years ago when I moved to Georgia I was in Wal-Mart and the (black) cashier handed me a dollar with "KuKluxKlan" written on it. She said I probably wouldn't be "as offended" by it as a black person might. I said, "There's only one thing to do with this," and I ripped it up. No muss, no fuss, no Huffington Post. Come on, people! If you get something like that, just toss it, don't make a federal case out of it. There are MUCH more important things to fuss about.
11:03 AM on 09/30/2011
Duh, you did make a "Federal case out of it" literally. Destruction of US currency is a Federal offense.

I totally wouldn't think Starbucks would do something like this. Wal Mart sure, but Starbucks? I found the song funny, and want Chris to be my barista!
