In 2013, Collective Conscience joined forces with Out2Enroll--a national initiative to connect the LGBT community with new health insurance options under Obamacare--to produce a digital campaign aimed at increasing awareness among young LGBT Americans of the need to enroll in health insurance. Over the past year, our community has made tremendous strides: more LGBT people are insured than ever before.

But we still have a long way to go. So this year, we were thrilled to work with Out2Enroll to continue to educate and promote Obamacare and new options through www.HealthCare.gov. Our video --"Obamacare Hallelujah"--puts a creative and unique spin on "Uptown Funk" with a diverse cast and lyrics that we hope will motivate our friends and family to get covered.

Why make a video about Obamacare, with the LGBT community specifically in mind? Because health is an equality issue. Access to health care and health insurance is incredibly important for our community, which is far more likely to be uninsured than the general population. In fact, 1 in 4 of our low- and middle-income LGBT friends and family were uninsured in 2014. This rate is unacceptable, especially when 87% of people receive financial help to afford health insurance, and those that don't get covered may have to pay a penalty (and 100% of their medical bills if they get sick or injured).

Join me in being our own best advocates - the deadline to sign up for health insurance is February 15. Get covered today and tell your loved ones to get covered. There are no excuses, especially when promoting health is as simple as sharing this fun music video.
