Open, er, Blog Post to Stephen Colbert from Generation Y-ish: Stop Associating Us with 'D-bags from Florida'

First of all, we just don't agree with your characterization of, well, us. For every 'd-bag from Florida,' I can guarantee you there's a 'non-d-bag from ANYWHERE ELSE' who has substantial concerns about America's future.

Which leads me to my second point: of all possible contexts, WHY freak out during a Kerry Q&A, other than to attract a frenzy of unnecessary attention away from real issues (from which there are plenty to choose)? So, Bush & Kerry were in a secret society, as were a good number of our previous presidents. What does that tell us? That all of our former presidents were rich white men who came from powerful families? HOLY SHIT, you're kidding!

I know plenty of people who wouldn't have stopped the police from tasering that kid had they been in the audience that day. And not for the reasons you presented in The Word, but simply because he deserved it.

So, quit it. Quit making the country think we're a bunch of 'd-bags from Florida.'

We'd really appreciate if you'd lay off -- embarrassing ourselves is our job. Not to mention, it's probably not the smartest thing you're doing, dissing the generation you're trying to reach.

How about challenging a generation that cares more about Halo 3 than the actual fighting going on in the name of their future? And while his comedy show may be trying to reach that demo, I'd be more concerned that the actual news doesnt even rate a passing glance from the same group.

WTF?! Forget about anything Colbert said. Do you seriously maintain that people who talk too much, or say things you disagree with, DESERVE to be tasered???
