Amanda Kingloff got the idea for her book "Project Kid" when her son looked at spool of ribbon -- with its round cardboard circle top and yellow "string" trailing behind -- and saw a balloon. Soon she began to envision numerous kids craft projects made out of repurposed materials and traditional craft supplies.

With over 100 craft how-tos, "Project Kid" offers instructions on turning toilet paper rolls into trains and bottle caps into brooches.

In the video below, Amanda demonstrates how to turn a juice box into an owl, a mint into a suitcase and a conditioner bottle into a rocket. For more detailed instructions on the juice box owl and mint tin suitcase, check out the instructions on CraftFoxes.
