Barack O'Bush

What's Your Reaction:

It's like George W. is still here. You can bet he would have made sure to keep his tax cuts, and maintain massive troop levels in Afghanistan and Iraq - all things our current President is doing, whether by design or political incompetence. Sure, Bush would not have passed anything like Obama's  health overhaul but you have to wonder if White House triangulation will ultimately result in paring that back. And don't forget that Bush won history's biggest expansion of Medicare - adding drug prescription benefits. Also, the deficit grew by leaps and bounds under both presidents. Provoked by fear rising from his party's congressional losses last month, the Obama who begins running for reelection next year will appear nothing like the liberal-leaning change agent who first got elected. Well maybe Obama's Supreme Court picks will make a difference, but we'll see about that.

Nah, Obama is nothing like Bush. Bush would not have compromised. He would have rammed his policies through without a single thought to compromise or those who are about to lose their unemployment benefits right before Christmas. Bush would have invaded Iran and South Korea by now (or perhaps some other country that starts with an I and South Korea. You know how he is about geography).

That's why he's going to have trouble being re-elected.

Hi Craig, good to hear your name in the news. As CQ-Rollcall is pretty much a pay-go site, I don't get to read your comments. I will be very interested to see where President Obama's funding will be from...somehow I doubt that he will get ton's of cash from ACT Blue.

I still had hope and the President and his Administration, but the extension of all of the George W. Bush Tax Cuts has killed all of my hope. "Hope" and "Change" cannot be made by electing people to work within the same system. The systen itself will have to change.

Hate to say it, but you're right.
