John McCain has lost his mind. In the fury of tornado-strength news cycles that allow so little reflection, let's not forget that the Republican nominee went nuts last week.
In the 48 hours leading up to Friday's debate, McCain vowed not to show up -- and then did. He announced a "suspension" of campaigning that never happened. He took credit for spurring negotiations of a Wall Street bailout package that he had nothing to do with.
And on debate night he acted like none of it had happened, making no reference to or providing no explanation for his erratic behavior.
Can you imagine what a McCain presidency would be like? The country -- and perhaps the entire world -- would be hostage to whatever whim strikes his fancy when the alarm clock strikes. Feeling a bit aggressive? Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.
As a pundit by trade I must admit that a McCain Administration is alluring. It would likely be a non-stop newsmaker. If nothing else, we would be spending much of our time trying to figure out what this crazy man is thinking. More on Craig Crawford's Blog.

Check this link on how '(McCAin) may be the first presidential candidate in our history to risk wrecking the country even before being voted into the Oval Office.'

What about him calling Bin Laden and the mujahadeen 'Freedom Fighters' who drove the Russians out of Afghanistan with our help. Is he still caught up the cold war? Does he have alzheimers?
McCain Called Bin Laden a 'Freedom Fighter'

How many Americans today praying for the defeat of the Taliban and Al Qaeda realize that Al Quada owes much of it's existence and power to the CIA's support of these very "freedom fighters" that McCain was lauding? (For that matter, I am truly wondering after his debate perforamnce, if even McCain realizes it?)
If the CIA had not supported them in the 80's, what do you suppose bin Laden would be doing today?
Country over news cycles, please. It should not be allluring at all. Just scary.
Every politician likes the spot light. What McCain has not figured out yet is what to do when the spot light is on him. His lame jokes and personal stories are not enough. The McCain campaign believes this is a battle about personality. It is not. It is a battle over ideas. Americans understand that this is a complex world and they want leadership to navigate us through uncertain terrain. McCain's world view and tactics suggest he is fighting the wrong battle at the wrong time.
The McCain campaign seems to feel that any attention from the media is good attention for the campaign. I think they proved themselves VERY wrong in the past week!
As a foreigner, McCain and his VP candidate definitely scare me, and it is hard for me to imagine that there are still so many who put their trust in the couple. I for one put my trust in the common sense of the majority of the American people: Barack Obama will be the next president of the US; a blessing for the country and the rest of the world.
I truly believe that the last two elections were stolen. Disgarded ballots, dropped votes, tactics of caging, disgarded absentee mailings, threats to college students that if they vote on campus they may lose scholarship money or their dependent status. Over 3 miilion votes were not counted in the last election. The justice hierarchy has been altered in at least eight states to align with Rove, and potential voting outcome discrepancies. Some states with absentee ballots may need a colored copy of ones driver's license enclosed to make the ballot valid. Please check with your election board to make certain your vote will count.
Right on the money 6bd. The scariest part is that they are poised to do it again.

Don't let it happen again!
Putting "Mc" in front of absolutely anything just gets wittier every time.
