Americans Have Plenty To Be Thankful For While Celebrating Thanksgiving 2009

Posted: 11/26/09

Sometimes it's hard to stay positive living in a country riddled by job losses, involved in two wars, sharply divided on major political issues, and reeling for economic recovery.

But since today is Thanksgiving 2009, let's try to take a step back, spend some time with friends and family, and count our blessings.

We live in a country in which there are many wonderful things we have to be thankful for -- things we all too often take for granted. I compiled this list of 11 such things that immediately came to mind, but I need your help determining which ones are also on your mind -- and your participation to add to the list.

Each of these slides will mean different things to different people, and that's OK. Collectively, I'm curious how they'll stack up.

We can debate that some other time. Today is a day to give thanks.

LOL, I always said they surely don't fight for me! They are protecting the wealth of the rich and that is all.
Do tell me why were in Iraq, having gained absolutely nothing and what will we gain from Afghanistan.
