Hey, looks like folks are getting genuine about this:

Overwhelming GI Bill Victory in the Senate

World War II-Style GI Bill Passed as Part of War Supplemental

NEW YORK - Today, by an overwhelming 75-22 margin, the Senate passed the "Post-9/11 GI Bill" as part of the war supplemental funding bill. This bipartisan legislation, originally introduced by Senators Jim Webb (D-VA), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), and John Warner (R-VA), is whole-heartedly endorsed by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation's first and largest nonpartisan Iraq veterans organization, and all the leading Veterans Service Organizations.

Bush and McCain claim that the Bill would hurt enlistment, but this has been exposed as a scam by the (non partisan) Congressional Budget Office here.

fyi, I hear that McCain avoided the vote. (I mean 2008 McCain, not 2000 McCain.)

As a 25-year veteran, I am pleased that the Senate has finally taken steps to help our troops. The administration is interested in using troops and not concerned with helping them.

This just proves John McCain is unfit for commander-in-chief

Yeah - on the back of our troops being bogged down in Iraq for another year and a half, minimum. The GI bill was piggybacked on a 70-26 vote in the Senate to continue funding an obvious (yet unadmitted, from pure deceit) American oil colony in Iraq.

That $165 BILLION of new debt passed AFTER Congress learned HORRIFYING details Tuesday about how we treat our captured (or purchased) prisoners:

"In the American prison camp in Kandahar I was shocked by the awful treatment prisoners received. I had a very high impression of Americans all my life, so I couldn't believe Americans would do these kinds of things.

It was wintertime and freezing cold and I had just shorts and no blankets. I was beaten repeatedly. During interrogations, my head was dunked under water to simulate drowning and electroshocks were sent trough my feet. At one point, I was chained and hung by hands for a long time. During the time I hung in the air, a doctor sometimes checked if I was okay; then I would be hung up again.

[snip]

The pain from this treatment was beyond belief. I know that others died from this kind of treatment." - Murat Kurnaz

Harry Reid lets the president dictate to the Senate, and the Democrats in the Senate let Harry Reid dictate to them.

It is AN ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE what is being done in our names, by both political parties. An ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE.
