Extreme violations of human rights in any context, including a war, are too important to forget. We want future generations to remember that we insisted on accountability for them.
Hopefully, in between the barbecues and the parades, our citizens will reflect on both the physical and emotional challenges that our service women have -- and continue -- to face.
One way to honor our veterans is to ensure they receive the care they were promised and deserve by enacting legislation to reform the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care funding system.
