The Miracle New Year!

Has this been a year or what? This year, we've encountered the good, the bad, the historic and the very special -- memories, that is. Our economy took a shocking plunge this past year, devastating weather left many homeless, scandals emerged within political borders and lives were lost.

This is the time when everyone is bracing for more financial disasters to strike, more jobs diminishing, gas prices to go up and wars developing. Even if they do, stop dwelling on the negative. We know that eventually, the economy's demise will once again be resurrected, jobs will flourish, cities will be rebuilt and the Baltimore Ravens will win the Super Bowl! Hey, I have my wishes!!

The more we focus on disaster, the more we will encounter. Let's keep our focus on what we'd really like to achieve this upcoming year. Surround yourself with good people who are trying to accomplish positive things in their lives as well as helping others to do the same. Although our economy makes it a little difficult, make an effort to help those in need. It doesn't matter if their need is financial or emotional. Step up and lend a supporting hand. When you take the focus off of your own problems by helping others, your problems won't look so ominous. In fact, there may even be a silver lining ahead waiting for you.

In these times of financial woes, let's look at 2009 as the miracle year! This is the year that things will progress for the better. This is the year that many who are destined to achieve greatness in their craft will succeed no matter the obstacle. This is the year that negative attitudes will become a thing of the past and carrying the positive trait will be our ammunition in moving forward to bigger and more exciting challenges in life. We have a new President coming into office this January! Let's all be encouraged and regain the strength and beauty this country should be admired for. It's time for positive change! Only we as a country can make that change.
