Sandra Wong Geroux
Many of the themes in photographer Sandra Wong Geroux's work involve families and the relationships between the generations. Geroux has continually documented family members in Hawai`i and in China to explore the idea of cultural identity, particularly with people who have been displaced from there ancestral homes, or who have settled elsewhere and are looking to connect with others from their "home" community.
Raised in Honolulu, Geroux has a BA in Photojournalism/African Studies from Syracuse University. She currently resides in Chicago with her husband, son and their turtle, Henry.
