GET UPDATES FROM Dale B. Cohen
From the structural to the decorative, Dale B. Cohen works with clients on translating their wants and needs into reality. Her specialty is in luxury design that creates calm, elegant environments that reflect each client’s style.

Schooled at the University of Michigan, she received a Bachelors of Science in Architecture and then a Masters in Architecture at Yale University. Dale started her career in Los Angeles, California, teaching undergraduate and graduate level architecture design at UCLA and Woodbury University while running her interior renovation and design firm. In 2000, she moved to Manhattan where she fine-tuned her skills as the senior architectural designer for Ingrao, Inc. and then Drake Design Associates where she was the senior architectural designer for the renovation of Gracie Mansion, New York City’s mayoral residence.

Today, she runs her eponymous firm based in Manhattan, where she specializes in residences for families, empty-nesters and bachelors. “Our tireless attention to detail provides a level of service that frees up our clients to enjoy the collaborative process of designing their home while staying focused on their busy lives. Whether through architectural planning, full renovations or complete interior design, we see the potential to rethink, re-imagine, embellish or simplify a residence. The design process begins and ends with the client.” Endowed with well-honed project management skills and graceful, seamless design solutions, her studio transforms the design into a built form that is beautiful and elegant.

Dale writes a design and lifestyle blog, BACHELOR by dale, where she shares her experiences in her expertise in designing for men. “Although men may know what they want in their home, they need an experienced designer who can work with them from conceptualizing their space to moving into a completely outfitted home.”

For the last two years Dale has appeared at the Architectural Digest Home Shows as a speaker. She was one of the panelists on Small Space Living: Don’t Think Small and drew crowds at her lecture Inviting Kitchens. In addition to her other philanthropic work, Dale continues her work as the co-chair of the American Institute of Architects New York City (AIA NY) Interiors Committee, developing programming for interior designers trained as architects.
