The documentary Hit So Hard is somewhat about the birth and spread of grunge rock, somewhat about the band Hole and its tempestuous leader Courtney Love, but primarily about Patty Schemel -- drummer, out lesbian, and drug and alcohol abuser -- and how the rock life nearly destroyed her. A story of redemption, and it kicks ass.
