Dana Van Gorder
Dana Van Gorder is the Executive Director of Project Inform, which represents patients in the process of identifying both HIV and hepatitis C treatments and a cure, advocates for biomedical prevention, educates patients and their caregivers about HIV and hepatitis C, and advocates for access to health care for all. Dana has worked in HIV and AIDS in many capacities since the first days of the AIDS epidemic, when he worked with Supervisor Harry Britt, successor to slain San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, to help pressure government at all levels to fully respond to this emergency. At Project Inform he and his colleagues are motivated by their impatience with the unnecessarily slow pace of progress against HIV to advocate for a greater sense of urgency, possibility and innovation in response to the epidemic.
