Daniel Kent is from Indiana, is 23 years old, and an MBA Candidate at the Yale School of Management.

He is president and executive director of Net Literacy, an all-volunteer, student-run nonprofit that bridges the digital divide through its digital literacy and digital inclusion programs. Net Literacy has provided increased computer access to over 170,000 individuals, cited by the E.U.'s Commission on Digital Inclusion's Report for best practices, highlighted in the National Broadband Plan presented to Congress, and endorsed by Internet associations representing 270,000 Internet companies on six contents. Kent has authored several whitepapers on Digital Inclusion, Digital Literacy, Broadband Adoption, and other technology issues.

As a team, Net Literacy has done amazing things while bridging the digital divide and increasing digital literacy! More than 3,500 student volunteers have learned job skills, life skills and served their communities by increasing computer access to over 170,000 individuals and donating more than 20,000 computers. Students rule at Net Literacy and its Board of Directors is 50 percent comprised of students. Teens want straight talk about Internet safety and thousands of students visit their Internet safety website every month. Internet associations representing 270,000 Internet companies on six continents have endorsed our digital literacy best practices website. Net Literacy was described as being one of the most promising models in the world by the European Union’s Study on Digital Inclusion, its programs have been cited in the National Broadband Plan presented to Congress, and two American presidents have honored their accomplishments.
