Daniel Machover is a lawyer with London firm Hickman and Rose, specialising in international human rights law, civil claims for abused prisoners and those wrongly accused of crimes by the police, and helping victims of crime get access to criminal justice, as well as representing bereaved families at inquests into deaths in state custody. His work in pursuing individuals accused of committing war crimes, torture and crimes against humanity across the world has placed him at the forefront of the movement for universal justice for victims of the most serious human rights violations. Daniel co-founded Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights in 1988 and is currently Chair of INQUEST, the charity which provides a specialist, comprehensive advice service to bereaved people on contentious deaths and their investigation. He brought a successful group action for prisoners assaulted by prison officers in a west London prison leading to pay outs totalling over £1million.

No Safe Haven for Suspected War Criminals

London - The Jerusalem Post recently quoted Michael Oren, Israel's ambassador to the US, as lamenting the "tactical" problem of Israel being unable to defend itself without facing prosecution. He added that "no one in Israel buys" that the Israeli military targeted civilians during Operation Cast Lead last winter.
