"[William] Kristol is preparing the way to argue that Palin is actually a genius, great on her feet, honest and transparent - and was destroyed by the McCain people." That's from Andrew Sullivan's blog, The Daily Dish, today. Earlier, he had said, "She was his creation, in many ways: a 'project' to be controlled and exploited." Well, maybe. Personally, I think William Kristol's support for -- sponsorship of -- Palin, and his whole philosophy are products of a sad, original failure to rebel against his father, Irving Kristol, founder of the American neoconservative movement, combined with a nearly clinical case of Wasp-envying nerdiness. He has become a nearly comic figure, to many, wrong again and again, as a result of his sad yearning to be a tough guy. He loves war, as many have noted, he is militantly Zionist, he is Darwinianly ruthless about individual self-reliance vs. governmental programs and regulation.
So it's like the old who's-using-whom issue in ambiguous sexual relationships. Kristol only appears to be on top, in the minds of some observers. In fact, even if she doesn't know it, Palin is the manipulator here. As has been famously noted, her ancestry dates back to the Mayflower. Names like Desire Howland, Experience Hall, Mehitable Cobb, Shubael Claghorn, Mercy Knowles, Patience Homes, and Hopestill Merrick are some of the leaves on her family tree. The "real deal"--rugged, puritanical, ur-American. She shoots moose. Her husband is a beaming but taciturn outdoorsman, evidently with secessionist tendencies. Oh, they're both not only sexy and fecund, they're tough. (They really are, I think. ) For me, Kristol all too clearly has an over-compensatory Thing for these people. At this point, he looks more like a pawn in Palin's game than the other way around.

McCain/Palin with their fundamentalist and neo-conservative supporters are anti-catholic, anti-pope, anti-constitution and anti-democracy. Not the America I want.
Vote for real a real democracy with a hopeful, sound, balanced, calm and INTELLIGENT President.
Obama/Biden.
Pyschoanalyzing Kristol? . . .I prefer root canal with no novacaine.
Daddy issues?
No wonder Kristol and Duhbya like each other.
One other Palin-obonic gem.
"Dobson:
The Republican Platform is the strongest pro-life, pro-family document to come out of a political party, even more so than the platforms during the campaigns of Ronald Reagan. There are principles there that I've been fighting for for thirty, forty years and you are trying to articulate those same principles, aren't you?"
"Palin:
Absolutely, and Dr. Dobson thank you so much for recognizing that. This is a strong platform around the planks in this platform that respect life and respect the entrepreneurial spirit of this great country and those things, back to the social issues that are what Republicans, at least in the past, had articulated and tried to stand on. "
"Palin:
Now, finally, we have very solid planks in the platform that will allow us to build an even stronger foundation for our country. It's all good and it's encouraging. You would maybe have assumed that we would have gotten further away from those strong planks. But no, they're there, they're solid, we stand on them and again I believe that it is the right agenda for the country at this time. Very, very clear and contrasted tickets in this election November 4th. People are going to see the clear contrasts, you just go to the planks in our platforms and that's where you see them."

Palin showed how inane she is during her debate with Sen. Biden when she went off script after talking about global warming and snapped at Sen. Biden "the chant is drill baby drill." Palin delivered this little ditty like a petulant "mean girl" high schooler. The fact that Palin's chant and what it represents countermanded her argument that, flew over Palin's head.
Another telling moment was when Palin was asked if she would label herself as a feminist. Palin said that she does not believe in labeling people. This after having spent every day since she was nominated casting disparaging labels on Sen. Obama. Once again right over Palin's head.
Palin gave a speech about special needs children and in the process mocked the importance of fruit flies being used in genetic research. Research that would help find a cure or treatment for Autisim and other genetic birth defects; and Palin did not realize that her comments only drew attention to the fact that Sen. McCain has voted over 18 times against funding programs for persons with disabilities over his 26 year career in Washingrton.
The icing on the cake was Palin talking about increasing funding for special needs children and allowing their families to have vouchers to take their children to private schools. Whew that one really flew over Palin's head -- that is pure socialism at it's highest form.
